I'm trying to get better jobs, and I'm thinking if I bought my truck would be a good deal.
As companies pay per truck during the year or month?
What type of truck (trailer) is getting better?
It's easy to get started with their own truck in Vancouver, has working for it?

    Thanks for help me.

    This is my best translation..

I'm trying to get a better job, I'm thinking buying a truck would be better than working for a company.
How much does a truck make in a year?
What type of truck, trailer should I buy to get the best rates?
Is it easy to get a truck and get it working n Vanouver?

I don't think you'd like buying your own truck. Especially in vancouver - its a tough market there. It sounds good, until you get on the road and realize how many costs and extra responsibility you have. But maybe. I knew a fella in Vancouver who bought a nice long nose pete and went working for 2.25/mile hauling trains. He lasted a year and then gave up and sold his truck. But hey if thats what you want to do go for it. Just realize some of the reward is not monetary - gotta be something you like too.

You can probably get 26-30,000 hauling trains in a month. Some industries are less. But remember fuel and insurance are going to eat up 13-20 alone. Never mind paying back you investment and repairs. Your going to be running you ### off just to make it work. I'm not sure it'll be worth the compensation. This is just my perspective so far. It might change with time. But its really tough, and I don't think it really registers with a lot of guys when they are told that.

I'm not sure that myself working with my own truck that I will make more than if I was a company driver. Everything, holiday pay, benefits, overtime, etc etc. and I'll be making in the range that I mentioned previously. I had an older fella pop my bubble of great riches and an easy life. I went home and thought really hard if I was still willing to do it when the reality hit me - but I went for it. Theres a lot of risk. a lot of risk. and a lot of competitive people with interests contrary to your own. Its dangerous, but if you really want to, and can live with the extra responsibility and if your lucky and do everything right maybe a bit more than a driver.

But hey thats my experience - Maybe others have a different experience.

Lease to own through companies - they call it the never never plan. Maybe thats what your looking at. I wouldn't. They'll make you work your ### off for almost nothing, then kick you out of truck before you pay for it.

Sorry for my english, I'm Brazilian, I am a truck driver in Rio de Janeiro. The working conditions here are very bad, I really want to improve my life and thought it would be better to work in Vancouver.
What is the best state in Canada to be a truck driver?
What do you advise to someone who is trying to change the country in search of a better job as a truck driver.
Sorry for so many questions, it is important to me.

Thank you for your time and patience.

Any western province (not state) shouldn't be too bad. Saskatchewan, B.C, or Alberta. Get a job, save your money, learn.. then go from there. You don't need to be a truck driver either. You could work for a contractor, learn his trade and start your own business some day. Or you could go to school and do something from there. Vancouver isnt bad, I'd at least start as a company driver, try to find a union and do that. I have a friend from south america who came here, started washing trailers for trimac, and has been working his way up through better jobs. He owns a home in Vancouver and his kids are going to post secondary school now. He is a hard worker.. really hard worker. its doable. he did it. Its not going to come fast or easy though.

I'd love to hear some other opinions though. Mine are just mine.

Vancouver is the most expensive city to live in Canada, Toronto second most. Alberta is probably the best place to start considering employment opportunities, income, and cost of living.

The Portuguese community is not as big as Vancouver , Montreal or Toronto, but we are here.

I thought Saint-Louis-du-Ha!-Ha! was the most expensive place to live in Canada ...... especially if you DIDN'T have a sense of humor !

I can't really comment on this, but I can give you my opinion. I've never been to NB, but I've heard the quality of life aside from money is great. Great people, great land. A lot of people still come here from NB to work, then back to NB to live or retire. So I'd say whether its good for you or not would be subjective to your perspective, objectives, and circumstances.
