How tall is a trailer - about 13' 6"?
KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) - A semi truck driver will have a lot of explaining to do after getting stuck under a railroad overpass at Independence Avenue on Thursday afternoon.
While the overpass clearly states a 12-foot clearance, the semi got pretty well jammed under it. Independence Avenue east and westbound at Wilson Avenue is closed and cars are exiting on Wilson to get around.
Drivers could also turn off on Hardesty Avenue to get around the incident while equipment is brought in to free the semi.

Guess reading and math weren't strong suits with this driver.

-
that appears to be the case with all idiots that do that crap.
HELLO. THERE'S YOUR SIGN.
i took my stick out and measuired a van. 13.2 was his height.
i see a lot of brdges that state 13.6 and vans just roll on under.Lilbit Thanks this. -
I think that the driver wanted to start a flatbed division......
-
I see this happening at scales also, sign says closed do not enter, usually because they have a long line of trucks-but I still see drivers pulling off to go through. Most seem to not be able to read english, if you know what I mean.
Lilbit and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
My TND510 tried to take me that way one time I was in the vicinity, its a "shortcut" to the flyingJ.

how fast was he going lol...he didn't get stuck a front...he collapsed the whole thing
Lilbit Thanks this. -
He's a can cowboy so 40mph over the speed limit and 4 feet off a minivan's back bumper.

I've had my dealing with that bridge before. Difference is I was smart enough to turn around in the grocery store parking lot that is off to the left. Wonder if the cop ask "did ya get your truck stuck"
"No #### for brains, my trailer said it needed a little off the top so I gave it what it wanted!"
After looking at the pictures I can't say I was smart enough to turn around at the grocery store he was headed east I was headed west...so I would've been smart enough to turn around in the gas station, or the price chopper that's on wilson avenue. I've had my encounters with this bridge more than once...I always forget about it until I get close to it lolLilbit Thanks this.
