he doesn't necessarily have to keep an eye on it. but someone does. it has to be a secured facility with watchful eyes.

the problem would be the paperwork that also has to stay with the load. it's supposed to be in the driver door at all times. if an emergency response team had to come out for whatever reason. that paperwork needs to right there to look at. they don't have time go up to the security gaurd and ask wehre the paperwork is. cuz it may not be the same guy that was working when you left.

you'll have to park the truck AND the trailer in a secured location. with a security gaurd ALWAYS on duty. door unlocked. and paperwork in the door. if that can't be arranged. then your stuck with the load. no going home for you.

you should know that. as you have to take the test every time you renew your endorsement.

Think about it... you're required to have the paperwork on top or in the door pocket or within reach...because you're hauling HAZARDOUS materials. How can you even think it would be ok to drop the trailer and go home? Not even sure you could drop at secure gbmt lot for explosives, dont think corrosives mix well with explosives.
    Take care

in the door, on the seat or in the bill box on the trailer. Placards on all 4 sides visible at all times. How many trucks do you see placarded that don't have one on the front bumper.

You can't park it within 5 feet of the right of way unless it's due to a break-down. Then you have to secure the vehicle and get it off the road ASAP. Including putting out triangles/warning devices.

You can bobtail home IF and only IF, the trailer is secured in such a manner that it can be moved or is in a safe haven.

You are asking a serious question in this day and age?

If you don't know the answer, then you shouldn't be hauling it.

I have a place that is visible from my 4 story house. If you live in Philly you learn where the truck parking is.

Instead of asking us outhouse lawyers, you might want to ask your dispatcher or safety department.
