If you look at one of my earlier posts, I bought the free standing TruckFridge fridge/freezer a 2 cuft model for around $500. The company is out of Kentucky and so far it works really well. Built like a tank and runs either DC or AC power similar to the ARB. The prices for these units are all over the place and can run over $1000.
Kudos for you to toss those useless thermocoolers and get serious with the kind of technology that you enjoy at home. I have all kinds of meats and fish in my freezer and in addition I already have a fridge to complement this unit. And amazing as stated, it uses very little power to maintain its temps.

I lived in Tucson for ten years and would go out on trail rides in our 72 Bronco with the "Arizona Classic Bronco Club" and a bunch of the guys had the ARB units. They were amazing. We would spend the day out rock crawling in 100deg heat and when we stopped for breaks or someone broke, we'd whip out the popsicles and ice cream bars. Or meats for lunch would be COLD. So very amazing for a cooler. Rock crawling, these would get banged up and I can't remember anyone having problems with theirs. EXPENSIVE by works like a charm. my.02DoneYourWay, windsmith and Lady K Thank this. -
I picked up this same coleman cooler here http://www.12volt-travel.com/powerchill-thermoelectric-cooler-with-adjustable-shelf-p-15152.html about 5 years ago. It had finally given up on me a year or so ago. I had found the same thing as you've mentioned here and it should be the same thing as the original that I purchased. It looks like a duck and it quacks so it must be a duck! Well have a look at the Schwinn and mongoose bikes that walmart sells . Nowhere near the quality they were when they were only sold at real bike shops. I think walmart has companies make cheap #### so they can appear more competetive in the market or something. My walmart cooler sounded like crap and then died shortly after pulling out of my drive. Great way to start a run!

Got a aromax rice steamer from walmart, 350watts for 39+tax(the little one). Put a little safflower oil, 1/4 in of water, 3/4 inch slice of pork "but" in the bottem, cabbage on top of that, cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots in the tray. set for 20-25 min. and done. lid seals and locks save for a small steam vent on top. low water level prevents spillage in all but the worst bounces. Works with chicken breasts, too. Havent tried fish yet. Beans and brown rice with ham chunks, takes a little longer, of course, have to add rice after the beans have cooked for a while so far so good.
2 tablespoons angel food cake mix, 2 tblspns sugar free devils food cake mix, 2 tblspns water, microwave for one minute, makes a simple, one cup, low sugar (diabetic) cake that tastes like the real thing.
Hope this helpsDoneYourWay and Nightwind8830 Thank this. -

Nothing beats a George Forman in the truck. You can do everything from streaks to grilled cheese. A dorm sized fridge from Home Depot, a small microwave, locking crockpot and Keurig coffee pot, and your all set. You can cook anything on the truck! Wash up is easy on the George Forman, lysol wipes and paper towels and it is cleaned right up.
DoneYourWay and windsmith Thank this.
