Thanks a bunch, it would be my first time hauling car, but I used to work security for Manheim, so I have some what of an idea of how to load, and how the auction process works. I would like to thing I'm a pretty hard worker and can catch on pretty quick, only thing that kinda scares me is stacking the head rack. I've seen it done plenty of times on the trailer, but have never seen anybody do it on the truck. But a driver told me you can stack the truck, or the trailer and it's about the same. But thanks a bunch, if I could mostly run out and back from West Point for two weeks at a time that would be perfect!
Does anyone have Information on United Road Car Haulers?

And also one more question, do all the loads out of West Point and Greer go north north-east, or do some go to the west or mid west? Thanks

Ive got a buddy thats been with them awhile and like others have posted there is no prefect company all have good and bad find one that fits your needs and stay with it.
If you can get a DayCab I would , I use to drive a big hood pete then went to a daycab and havent looked back.
Yes you have to look for motels at night but thats easy to do and when you get parked you dont have to walk in to the truck stop , eat , wait a hour for a shower and all that bs plus once you get to know your areas you will know where the motels are that are easy to get in and out of also which to avoid when loaded.
Far as how long to learn car hauling that depends on the person I was self taught with a buddy teaching me over the cell phone when i had questions lol not a easy way to learn but i did it.
Big thing is think of cars like a puzzle when you look at the truck picture what will fit where . you will unload it quite a few times until you learn your truck with different units to get your heights right.
then dont be one of the noobs that rubs and bangs up the rails by not watching your mirrors.other thing you need to watch is your turn radius in the middle of the truck and trailer its not like a box that you can turn 90 degrees. -
United Road Services out of MI has changed over the years. They used to pay well and on time. I worked with them through 2 trucking companies (over 15 years) and until this year, never had a problem.
What I learned this year? UR will make you wait for your payment. They will attempt to refuse to pay for transport, claiming you damaged a vehicle ( a week after the delivery). They will refuse to show proof of any damage or any claim. If you dispute the claim, you may even get a call from one of their VP's who may try to intimidate you. If you stick to your guns and don't back down and demand proof of damage they will back down and pay you for transport. They will claim it was just a mis-understanding. Also a note on ACH Payments. Read your ACH agreement. UR can and will deduct from your bank account for bogus damage claims. They really have changed over the years and not for the better. -

I checked out this company a couple weeks ago. They said it was 25% of the load which I figured was fair but the deal breaker for me was no load or unload pay or delay. NO thanks I will keep my LTL job.
