Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold the phone. I'm not an individual who is going to point out all the negative aspects about a company. This company is perfect for me and my lifestyle, the way i run, and the money i make. I find that the longer you stay out the more money you will bring in. if you want to be home every 2 weeks as otr, you will not get as many miles because you are limiting the planners on running you out farther and where the fright may be more prevalent.

Just because the recruiter didn't mention about possibly touching freight. What did they say when you asked them about it?

You only have to touch freight if its less than 100 cases, which is on an ltl. Any company you work for is not going to tell you all the little things based on their general conversations with potential drivers. Any company you run for is going to have policies and procedures that is unique and possibly different then others.

Honestly, if your going to be that critical on how a recruiter may tell you something and you hold it as the word of god, your already setting yourself up to a reason why you can leave. Then tell how the company may have "lied" to you about this or that then you quit, leave, and then you go and bad mouth the company.

I've said it before, this is not a company that asks very much of you. They do not give any specific route you must take. They do not tell you where you must fuel on a route. They are generous with the logs and issues such as over speeds, hard braking, and appt times. If you are being detained at a customer and send your message into dispatch they call and ream out the customer. They are diligent on that. If you have the opportunity to park your truck and trl close to your house and its safe and secure and you wanna spend the night at home or even park your trk at your house they let you.

You need to keep I to perspective the positive things about a company and take the good with what you perceive as bad. This is everything in life. With 2 years of experience you know how drivers can be talking negative about everything, yet doing nothing to improve their situation.

    Let me ask you this:

"What don't you want to do, run, or perform as professional driver?"

Tell me that and ill tell you honestly if you're cut out for Wel.

I drove for WEL from 11-2010 to 11-2012. The newest truck I got was a 2009 Pete 386. Prior to that I was in a 2007 FL Century. My 1st year avg. was 2500 miles per week @ 28 cpm + 10 cents pdm. Lots of LTL manifest loads w/multiple drops. The only time I got western loads was when I was setting up for hometime (Idaho) once per month. 2nd year avg. was 2000 or less per week. The only benefits were paid vacation & holidays. Not a bad job, but if you want to run OTR 48 states, don't go there. They will hire you as OTR, but run you more like eastern regional. And they continue to add more "watch-dog" programs to the computer system. Safety should be a priority, but not by micro-managing drivers.

These dehumand posts appear to be the product of a fragmented, disassociated thought process. I sincerely hope his driving skills are much better than his ability to share his thoughts in print. If not, he's dangerous !!

Looks like jwb1485 pretty much answered most of the questions.... Yup, sometimes I just get a wild hair to try something dif but I'm still pulling for WEL. Pretty hard to find any companies out there that seem worth leaving for.... hauling refers aint so bad really. I have only had like 1 washout in the past month or so, and keeping an eye on the temp becomes second nature. Last two mi turn-ins were 3,100 and 2353 and this weeks will be about right at 2,500...... I went home between this weeks and last week so there was a slight dip. Seems we are dooing less and less ltl as of lately... haven't pulled a multi stopper in a few weeks.
