SorryJust think if they did start that? They might as well ban cb's then too if they did. I've heard some talk before about some civil infraction in my state involving hands free while back. Not sure if it got any traction.

Youll hear more from others I'm sure but, CB's and cell phones arent used the same.

Already knew that Sir. In essence, I would humbly beg your pardon though on one point. You take your eyes off the road to fiddle with phone for call, you also take your eyes off the road to fiddle with cb radio dials buttons. You take one hand off the wheel to push button on a blue tooth hands free device or make a call on phone, you take one hand off the wheel to grab cb mic to pull close enough to talk.
Given those similarities, it's not a stretch of the imagination to think any such restriction couldn't be considered. -
my cb don't have any switches to fiddle. it's all set. and the mic hangs on top right in front. no taking eyes off the road what so ever.
some people even have there mic's hanging from the roof right next to there head. -
I've seen that and plan to have mine set up similarly as well.
My point was just to say its a similar situation, between one electronic device and another. That's all. All it takes is one high profile *bleep* up and some dip legislator with a bone to pick to destroy something that's an American Icon.
I personally like the cb draw tether to pull the mic up to device when done speaking. Keeps it nice and secure away from face, but within close reach. -
I normaly drive with my hand on the shifter. Most people only drive with one hand. I know law says 2 hands.
I have found times I'm talking on my blue tooth and had to tell the person I'm talking with to "hold on a minute". What I had to deal with in front of me, made it hard to concentrate on what I'm saying to them. -

I get that. I personally get alot of debt collection calls, so I just ignore my phone for the most part.
I also understand why liking the hand on the shifter.
Ok, thread hijack over. -
Me too. And alot of them are city LTL drivers making decent money. I guess some of them dont care.

If memory serves me, yes it does add points as well a $2,700.00 fine in any state. Has been this way for some time now. It's not on fed level through CSA.
