My trainer has a can of some type of long-shot bug spray. He says it burns like Hell. He also has his tire hammer.

I carry a 3 Cell D battery Maglite I can look at the inside on my duels as well as a crossed the truck to check the brake linings and I also carry a 18" Baseball bat that is called a tire thumper. I have not thought about the bug spray but that should do well to detour someone trying to get in your truck. If it doesn't look safe to be there I don't stay there.... I do on down the road a piece.

Its dependant on state law the same as a concealed carry pistol permit in the truck that is just a reciprocity issue, there is no Federal statute on weapons.
Look in the book.123456 Thanks this. -
this is the wrong place to ask check with authoritiesn alot on here want to give personal opinion not the law there is no federal rules about weapons in trucks
-
Correct,
but there are laws, both federal and local,
about alot of these so called self defense weapons.

I'd rather just carry a real weapon,
legally !!truckon, hotrod1018 and KF7WTV Thank this. -
Taser probes do not have to be surgically removed, and the taser can also be used as a "stun gun" so you can get some with 50 thousand volts from about 15 feet or stick it in their gut and zap them. And as soon as you let up and the juice they can get up and run away or attack you.

Some states require a conceal carry permit to have one, some require a training course. Some require nothing at all. It is the same for pepper spray. If truly worried about defense, I would get a cattle prod. These are for livestock, but will work really well in a defense situation... plus you could club someone with it. Typically laws don't cover these as, one could just say, I use it when asked to haul cattle(even if you don't).
