Greetings! I've been reading this forum for a while and am getting a lot of info for a better job in the Cdl A industry. I've been a Cdl B for 3.5 yrs., until I upgraded to an A. I worked shortly for a peddle run/ hotshot outfit that runs their drivers 18 hrs a day and 6 days a week. Their accidents were up because of fatigue, and it got to the point I couldn't remember driving home. The peddle run tractor trailers were the short 36 ft trailers, so it was more like hauling a stock trailer since it wasn't a 53 footer. My trainer ran over every curb within 150 miles..I'm surprised the axle wasn't twisted. Anyway, I'm looking for the right fit. I was home everyday with the straight truck jobs and the peddle runs. Regional and dedicated accounts look good. I'm looking to get home weekends. I'd like to haul hay. Does anyone train newbies for flatbed hay hauling? Is there such a thing as regional hay accounts? I'm a farmer. I like agriculture. No more 18 hr runs please. Thanks!

Don't know about hay haulers, but Maverick and McElroy have weekend home programs. Both are flatbed outfits. Apply online and you will probably have a new job in a couple of days.

Prime Inc. right there in Springfield has flatbed, but doubt if you would be home every weekend.

Yes, that DG or any account like that is too much work for too little money.

Melton might be a good fit, but don't know if I want to go to Mexico. Checking McElroy. They will take newbies... Maverick's trucks are all automatic.

System Transport has Conestoga flatbeds. Roll over tarps are the way to go. Thanks Chinatown! Their K.C. location can get me home weekends and no Mexico runs. Melton is emailing me a lot I looked on their website and didn't see any conestogas or curtain side.

    Chinatown Thanks this.
