In most PF offices it takes seniority to get the better jobs--you will start hauling fresh water, work up the list to do production and work up another list to do crude. You will still do OK starting at the bottom but it will take some time to make the top rates. Plus your rates as a driver improve the longer you are there. You will need at least 2 years experience with a tractor trailer to even get considered for new hire. You need to be very careful about chaining in snow or mud (lots of rain this summer) and watching for slippery or hazardous road conditions--even one accident can get you sent down the road regardless of your tenure. PF will help find you housing which is reasonable for the area.

Thanks for the info guys. The hubby had an interview via Skype on Sunday morning with MBI. I feel it went well. Fingers crossed! :angel5: Still waiting on a call from Great Western Resources, but don't know a lot about them anyway, so hoping MBI hires him. They didn't say what he would start out at, but seems to be a helluva benefit plan! Plus he's just looking for a foot in the door at this point. Anythings gotta be better than Waste Management (where he's at now)...what a bunch of crooks! Have a great day all! :smt041

If anybody in here is looking for a driver for their rig in north dakota and you need somebody dependable that knows ho to take care of equipment give me a shout. I am looking to get into driving in North Dakota. I have some driving experience pulling hopper bottoms. Here's the deal, You get me into driving (help me get my CDL ) we can work out some sort of deal for you helping, whether its a paycut or extra hours something like that. I'm 31 yrs old, married, family, don't drink, don't do drugs. Ready to work. I am located in Minot ND. If this is something that might work send me a pm. I'm not looking to hop around from company to company. I'm looking for one good place, for the longhaul. If you want a dependable employee I'm your guy. Whether it's sand, water, Oil I'm open to all ideas. If you're a company man, running your own business perhaps I can bring a truck on later on down the road and cut you in for helping me? Money is money, and business is business.

Ship It if you have been reading these blogs you would understand that the demand for truckers in ND has levelled off, sort of in plateau stage. Guys with a CDL-A and needed endorsements, a clean safety (and criminal) record and at least two years experience can find good jobs if they are patient and are already on the ground in ND. But there isn't a lot of need for inexperienced drivers or worse, drivers with no license. Reputable, stable companies want licensed drivers that can meet the requirements of their insurance company which usually means documented 2+years of experience. All drivers have to pass routine drug tests so being drug-free is expected. Most companies won't pay to move qualified drivers to ND, so why would a company go to the trouble to help you get certified and experienced? They don't need to do that, there are plenty of licensed drivers coming to ND on their own wanting trucker jobs in the oil patch. About the only thing you have that some others don't is ND housing. But that only works if you get a job near Minot. Best advice to you is if you really want to be a trucker, go to a school, get your CDL and some driving experience. Try again here in a year or two. Hauling in the patch is dangerous, particularly in slick conditions, even for veterans. No one wants someone cutting corners on experience on the roads causing accidents.

They absolutely do hire drivers with no experience. Just before I quit MBI in Ross last month, I took a kid out with me that had zero professional driving experience. He hired on with MBI the week before, straight out of driver's school.
