Jake32 is right... Get a year exp and then try... Or u can get with a company that trains u to drive/manual labor like Haliburton and nabobs and slumber j... The days of 3 hours driving exp to get a great job up here are long gone.... It's all about driving company Saftey records... And one inexperienced driver could cost a company all it's contract and put them out of business.. They don't have to take chances like that any more.

 

If you can drive in the middle of the gravel road going up a hill, ditch your trailer on the widest approaches known to man, and ignore road signs then you should be a good candidate to haul production water. I am not saying all water haulers are like this but at least 50 percent are, so they must hire without experience.

MBI offered me a safety job four years ago, when my CDL was new and I had ZERO oilfield experience. Tim, in charge of safety over there, doesn't know prevention from his ####. I don't know about your experience with MBI but I was counseled to steer clear, and I am glad I did.

I don't think it has anything to do with you not using your license.

 

They look at all kinds of things when choosing potential candidates, including your work background, how many jobs you've had / the longest you've stayed with a single employer, etc just to name a few. I'm sure the number of applicants at a given time in context to the number of drivers they're looking to hire has a lot to do with it as well.

The kid that I took out just before leaving was in his early 20s, had gone to school for a couple years to get an IT degree, worked on computers in Phoenix for a couple years, and then got his CDL from a driver's school and went to work straight away for MBI. I'm guessing they were hard up for drivers at the time he applied, because he didn't seem like he had ANY business working in the industry. I'm quite certain he won't even last until the first day of winter, but he might surprise me...

Im considering lots options, people been saying winter here is the toughest one add that to my non driving experience , a 2007 license and my almost lack o skills. maybe is better 4 me to surrender my license . every where i go tell me the same story they wont consider me because 6 months gap ater school . and i have 5 yrs without any experience. I ve considered CR england in the past but that BS about electric logs was too much BS 4 me. considering the fact that you get paid like 200 a week .Plus they are going to charge me 6k 4 their training program( guessing more less). If nothing happens here in ND in a couple weeks i might surrender the license and explore other occupation at trade school . these people are keep holding me back because stupid requirements since 2007 . I dont know why jobservice says that is one o the most marqueteable jobs. what they dont know is that they cannot go against companies insurance requirements and regulations . This place is pretty much 4 people that have 2yrs sometimes one yr. I dont know maybe someone on this forum might have another good explanation like yours. I apreciate your commment thank you .
