I was at VW for seven months and they're an okay outfit. Decided they were to small for me though and got tired of getting screwed by Josh & Cory.

Yessir. I'm a day cab reefer hauler now. (Technically a night cab, just got home). I run from Fort Wayne to Indy and back. Some nights twice, some just once. Left Roehl again (and for good) in June.
You can call me the ice cream man, thats what my kids are telling their friends. lol

www.drivedecker.com I live in Colorado and am out of Le Mars, Iowa on the B-T Inc side of Decker. Check out the website, it had most everything anyone has a question to in regards to pay, benefits etc... Anything else just post up and will answer if I can, if not will try to find it for you.

    OregonJoe and notezbngrn71 Thank this.

Now that just sucks. I'm headed to Roehl on August 26th and was hoping to have you as a trainer.

Arrived home last night at 1900 for the weekend. Drove 2600 miles my first week which is pretty good considering the load planners aren't used to how I run or even my existence on the board.

My run home was a swap out with a driver in Des Moines and delivered in Chicago at a meat packing plant. Rather interesting neighborhood as most of them are. Anyway, apparently stop signs, stop lights and speed limits are only optional to the locals. I counted 8 cars pulling out in front of me, three passed me on narrow residential streets and two ran a stop sign and a red light. This was all within four miles so to say it was challenging would be an understatement...LOL!

I have to say that my impression with Decker after two weeks is pretty good. My dispatcher actually asked me when I wanted to come back out of the house. I had to ask him to repeat himself since I'm used to be told when I'll leave again. I told him I was thinking Monday and he replied that he'd call me Monday morning with a load. After my MT call, he followed it up with a "Have a great weekend and thanks for the hard work this week." I'm not used to being treated like a regular human being so this may take some getting used to over time. :biggrin_255:

So today I'll be hand washing my truck, cleaning out the inside which was pretty clean to begin with. In this industry you get so used to cleaning up after the previous driver's quick departure that I was a little taken back with how clean the truck was when it was assigned to me. They not only put in a brand new mattress, but the floors, walls, cabinets, ceilings had been scrubbed and Armor Alled. It's a testament to not only how they respect their drivers but also to how well they maintain their trucks.

Maybe I'll post some pics when she's all cleaned up and repacked with my road life stuff. In the meantime, keep the dirty side down drivers.
