Called into dispatch at 9am yesterday while having breakfast with the wife and dogs. Kimberley told me to head up to Ellenwood Ga to the USX yard to pick up an empty reefer. 595 mile bobtail deadhead. I got there about 9pm last night, found the trailer then realized why I had to get this particular one, the alternator is bad. On my way up my reload came through. I had to load live trees in Watkinsville Ga this morning going to Richmond for tomorrow morning. I made it to the Pilot on 20 at the 114 mm and went to bed. I was only 22 miles to my pick up. I got there at 9am and was loaded and pulling out the gate at 10:30. I have 45 10 foot high trees in plastic planters laid down on their side, total weight, 5000lbs. I'm sitting at the pilot by the yard getting ready for bed. I should be back at the yard about 10am to start my next adventure, be safe, God Bless.

Ok, got empty this morning at 7:30. I left the yard at 7, found the place to deliver, which, to be as pleasant as I can, was a new hood to replace the old hood that the city tore down. I'm glad I did my part to beautify the inner city of Richmond with new trees.
    End of my delivery story.

I got back to the yard at 8am, wrote the trailer up because it wouldn't start and there was about 2 inches of mud from these trees I had on so it needed to be washed out. I dropped the trailer, fueled the truck then went into see Jonathan in dispatch. I was offered about 10 different loads, 9 of which really didn't make any sense to me seems as how this last 2 weeks I only had right at 5200 miles. So I took an Amazon load that I will drop and hook for in Chester at 4am going to Hebron Ky for tomorrow night at 6pm. These are great runs, we drop the trailers just as soon as we get there. This will be the fourth time I've done one of these, it puts me in a good area for Murray Ky for a Pella load. Even though today is a non-productive day, I will be running good after midnight which starts our new pay period.

I plan on staying out the full 2 weeks this pay period, I haven't done this in the whole time I've been here. I'm curious to see how many miles I can do in the full 2 weeks while running off my recap when I use up my 70.

I've had a couple of short weeks lately myself. But, I've been going home a lot lately. Having to deal with issues with my mother and appointments for myself. After this time, I'm staying out 3 weeks and hopefully can maneuver for a 34 at the house in the middle.

I'm empty, got to the shipper at 4am, the trailer was ready. I hooked to it, got my paperwork, then pulled out the gate and slept until it was daylight. I left about 7am and stopped once for my break. I got to the delivery at 4pm, dropped the loaded trailer, picked up an empty, and was done in 45 minutes. Time for bed.

Ugh what a fiasco. Was at the yard Sat evening and put me on an HP load to Chambersburg for Mon morning that would be ready in the morning. That got canceled and put me on a Yonkers load. No big deal I should be headed out by non. NOPE! Was ready at 2100. No big deal right. 7AM delivery, but heres the catch, 5 trucks and only one can be in there at a time. So here I am sitting on the side of 87 waiting for them to call me in, 4 miles away.

Jonathan offered me that load Saturday morning. Glad I took the Hebron instead.

I was sleeping like a baby this morning when all of a sudden my Qualcomm started making all sorts of noise at 7am. The last thing I wanted to do was get out from under this down comforter. I finally got up and read my new load info. I have to go back to where I dropped my trailer last night and pick up a loaded one going back to Petersburgh. My load is scheduled to be done at noon and I have a midnight delivery. This is good. Now if I can get motivated to come out from under this comforter, I'll go inside and take a shower.

Was hooked to my load in Hebron Ky and out the gate at noon yesterday. I got to Petersburg Va at 11pm last night, dropped my loaded trailer, picked up an empty and was back at the yard at 12:30 this morning. I woke up about 8am, went in and took a shower then checked in with dispatch. I was given a load that was sitting on the yard that delivers to a new Walmart food store in Roswell Ga. Right now I'm parked in their dock waiting for the contractors to show up in the morning to unload these 14 coolers I have.

Sounds like this is a good company!!! You don't sit much at all.. I went to their website to check the pay scale couldn't find anything.. What is starting pay and top pay? Do you get paid for drop and hooks? Thanks

Pay varies for each person. That is something you would discuss with recruiting. More than likely, the lowest would be probably be .34 per mile. Don't get drop-hook pay. Do get layover, detention (on some accounts), .10 extra per mile for northeast miles, and NYC pay. Couldn't tell you about top pay. No, we don't usually sit. But, I just found out that NYC is now forced dispatch. I personally don't like that. Hope that helps you some.
