I'm currently at Melton. Been here three months. I only get around 2000 miles a week. Just about every load needs to be tarped. They don't get you home when you ask to be home. I've confirmed this with many other of my fellow Melton drivers. And all the new trucks have in cab dash cams that face in and out of the cab. This is unacceptable! Inc been driving for 13 years over a million miles accident free. So I will be Leaving Melton asap.

Bye.
Youve only been here three months....how many times have you requested to go home? I have no trouble getting home. Miles average 22-2600. Sometimes I may have to ask for them. But I get them. My truck does not...and will not...have a camera. If it is not previously installed, they are only putting them in traainers trufks and at risk drivers. -
Sounds like they will be losing a good driver, I read a boyd brothers thread on this forum of a driver quitting because of 6k miles a month , I average around 9k miles a month and I only avg about 3 days hometime a month. I would like to know where you can easily get more miles and more time off but I haven't seen anyone talking about it on the web, I have talked to many system and TMC guys at shippers, a maverick here and there and thats who I mostly see, did you get your truck BRAND NEW or with some miles on it ? If so the previous driver may be why the camera is in it but ALL new trucks do NOT come with cameras and while I think Noggin is right there is one more scenario where the previous driver of your truck earned a camera and then the truck was reissued and they didnt take it out which happens also .
I have 10 months exactly with melton , I have 88205 paid Melton Miles , there are 96000 on my odometer on my truck I have added actual These are hard numbers from the calendar/my paycheck/odometer on my truck. last winter was a little slow from mid dec. thru February/March and I made a little less , so I made up for it thru the summer.Last edited: Aug 18, 2013

Update #2
Just got to my hotel room filled out a huge amount of paperwork, it is time to get some shut eye before my first day hope all goes well. -
This week is easy ( pay attention obviously), but that time with your instructor is really important. I drop my first load this morning and wish I had had about a week with a trainer. I spend a lot of time in the blue book and securement manual.
You will do fine since you made it through the screwing acceptance part of the process.
Good luck! -
Day 1 of Orientation
Lots of Paperwork! Just got done for the day we did our physicals, drive tests, orientation videos, and a ton of paperwork today. So far so good! -
I was told that all the new trucks that Melton has are equipped with the cameras in them and not isolated to a few bad drivers. And mine was on for two days straight, for no reason what so ever. Except they wanted to watch me dress and undress I geuss. This is beyond disturbing. I've talked to ex Melton drivers who have had their wives on the truck with them. And where beyond upset by the fact the company could watch inside the cab. And the cameras are probably have audio too. I will soon be a ex Melton driver too. And I will spreading the word about the cameras and low miles across the country.
hallellujah Thanks this. -
Btc, home every weekend depending where you live

You jogged my memory and we were told in orientation that all new tricks will be equipped with cameras. They are for insurance purposes in case of a accident the camera goes on and records in and out of the cab. Other companies use them too, like Arco. And that was orientation in Tulsa back in may.
