All I know is I told them I'm not crossing any picket lines! They tried to call me in tonight cause it's an emergency. Told them nope! You gave the the day off. Not my fault they are screwing with the Fontana and Compton yards. They can eat it. I didn't bow down to YRC in 2007 and I won't bow down now. My yard isn't even union lol. I will support the union barns if even under the radar. They are still Reddaway/YRC. Fontana had no choice but to vote the union in over there. They were being treated like dung. Fontana is the biggest yard down here for Reddaway. I know for a fact, it will be hurting them.

Has anyone heard of YRC targeting the older Reddaway drivers lately?... We've had a couple situations where it really seems strange.. Excessive write ups, suspensions for otherwise write able offenses.. I'm just curious if this has happend anywhere else.

That's for sure what it looks like.. It's been a battle over the past few months.. We lost, I just want others to be aware of what had happened. It began for my Father with excessive write-ups, my Dad admittedly reacted by posting his warning letters an a rather suggestive photo the joke was "he was taking in the you know what"... That was let go by management.. It's an incredibly long story but it basically goes like this: 18year employee blows out his back, returns to work, warning letters begin, YRC latches on to the first thing they can, suspension, grievance, agreement see a shrink, shrink wants HIPPA rights waved, my Dad refused, the union is weak, after 18 years he's taking a job for $14.00 a hour. We're in Oregon, you guys who were with Reddaway before the buy out keep your ears, eyes, & hearts open.. It's a shame but that's corporate America for you. He's just thankful he was able to find another job. So if he's willing to let it go so am I. It's worth putting the story out there.

That's the most disgusting part.. He was injured on the job, but never collected a cent. So really he didn't cost the company any money other than a liability an a vote. He's found another job started today :) huge pay and benefit cut but he's working. The old Reddaway did some really great things for my Father an I. I knew everyone they knew me, I grew up in that terminal. But they are long gone and so is that terminal. It would take a lot to get the Union to pay more attention to this.. I'm not sure who G. Basset is, but my Dad was in Salem out of Portland. It's just a disappointing story all around.

I remember when it hit the fan in 2007 at YRC. The union just turned their backs on us. I don't trust them one bit! I'm not anti union at all, in fact I'm more pro union due to the better wages and benefits. One benefit that seems to be gone is the pension. Now they are bowing down to big business. Whatever! Still having the union shops keeps the non union shops pay higher as well.

It's disappointing to say the least.. Like I said, way back when, Reddaway cared it was a company but they still were small enough to think about their employees. When my Father Deployed, the company OFFERED to continue my insurance so he didn't have to worry about my medical care when he was gone. I have straight teeth thanks to benefits provided by his union contract, an up to this point (I'm now 25 and on my own) we lived very comfortably. I'm just floored that after 20+ years as a due paying member the Teamsters have dropped the ball... My Dad is an award winning driver, the write ups that he received this year far out weigh any discipline he encountered over the last 18 years with Reddaway. That being said, those of you who have been around before the buyout & us family members know, "Reddaway" is just a name anymore.. This is YRC a giant company who got in over their heads an are now cutting all corners to save $$... The pension loss and pay cut was a big deal.. You guys deserve that back especially since the Reddaway division has continued to perform well.
