Yeah, with it never been done it's an option. Nothin' like being froze up on the side of the road to make you re-evaluate.

 

I think around 150 - 200 bucks exchange. They take yours for core and give you a reman. Check it out.

 

I bought a rebuilt wabco and they cost $275 before the core. If you buy just the filter they are around $75. That's what I was told but I did buy the reman dryer.

 

maintenance schedule on my prostar said every 250k miles. I think yours is same brand air dryer.

 

to check air driyer is easy. Drive truck for a week w/o drainong moisture from air tanks and next weekend check air tanks for moisture.

 

if looks like this, change it every year, it is unit w/o electronic compressor control

 

Like Horse Whisperer said, about every two Years, any longer that filter is hard to get off.
