Maverick DOES have a new policy that Brand New Drivers with LESS THAN 3 MONTHS Experience must wear a Bright-Orange Shirt at all times upon which on the back it states " I am a Newbie! KICK ME!" LMAO.

JNaum, I usually am able to take an empty home w/me and I live in the Cookeville TN area. I think I've taken a loaded trailer home once or twice since starting w/Maverick last year, and I've bob-tailed home once from Lebanon TN. There are at least 3 places we drop/hook at in your area (Memphis, Covington, Union City) so that's definitely advantageous to you. How long you are going to be home may also be a determining factor for that. My 2¢ for what it's worth. Best of luck!

Flatt, thank you very much for that info. I live bout 40 mins away from union city so I think that will play in my favor. My plan is to stay out bout 6 weeks at a time and then take 3-4 days off if that is possible.

We have customers all over that area. But I will tell you that you will VERY RARELY go home under a load. For the flatbedders it's no big deal, but they avoid it for TCD because there won't be anyone there to watch the reefer unit, and van trailers are more likely to be broken into because you can't see what's in them. If you're taking 3 or 4 days off, you'll never go home under a load because the reefer fuel won't last that long. I've never once gone home under a load myself.

As for your hometime, you get one day off for every week you are out. If you stay out 6 weeks, you'll be allowed up to 6 days off, but you're not required to take that many. You're I. A good spot for TCD though, I know I've delivered in Dyersburg before, but I can't remember which customer it was.

Unless you're dropping your trailer at a customer to get loaded, you won't be bobtailing home. They won't let you drop that trailer ANYWHERE except at a customer to be loaded. They're very picky about that.
