im curious does anyone know much about this company or work for them?
I didnt see a section so im curious, they contacted me about working for them and I see they have a west coast regional mostly CA which im looking to get something close to home.

Im ready to leave Swift and move on but im doing a lot of homework before I jump to a company to make sure it will be the right move

I'm in the same boat ready to leave where I'm at but not sure which company would be the best fit for me and where I live at. I could be wrong and probally I'm but I thought national is a lease only company or can you be a company driver there?

the website has a company driver section along with o/o and l/o so I assume you dont have to lease

I have been getting a lot of companies contacting me lately but not seeing what I like, also had a driver today try to recruit me to JCT spewing about how he loves it there for 6 years and the leasing is great bla bla

I am not giving these companies apps until I do my homework.

National Carriers is a reefer outfit. You probably won't do any better financially than you are doing with Swift. Running solo regional, the miles probably won't be too good because of long load/unload and short runs. Your best option would be tanker/hazmat. You may also do better than Swift, with System Transport or Watkins & Shepard; both have regional.

National Carriers is a strong company and been around for decades. Their specialty has always been hauling meat & they even have a bullhauler division in Tyler, TX. I'm not knocking the company at all, it's just that a solo driver, running regional reefer, with Elogs..you see where I'm going with this.

yes i do, I have friends back home with ties to people in the oilfields looking for stuff for me, my best friend's sister has a good friend who runs heavy equipment, vacuum trucks etc for the oilfields and she is trying to get my info to him as well.
She asked me if I would be capable of driving a vacuum truck and stuff, I laughed at her and said I could probably parallel park the thing in a car space after hauling around a 53. Its at least hourly with overtime and home pretty much every single night so might be a good move for me for now then return to OTR once my little ones are older.

Wolfy, Why don't you call a few of the folks who have worked at NCI for years and see what they think? Owner Op Steve Danielson, Lease Op Todd Owen, or company driver Roger Alexander. Check out the Youtube channel also at http://www.youtube.com/nationalcarriers. A lot depends on where you live and what your needs are. If you need a telephone number or want drivers numbers from your home locale just let me know.
