You see, I told you both those stops were good to deal with.

I'm a little confused. You are not doing training anymore (which I understandable and totally agree by what you said, your more of a team than trainer) but you had to turn in your 780 for a Mack but yet most drivers there are solo that are driving 780. Is there a diffrence in the 780 you had verses the solo that have the 780? I was supposed to be at Abilene earlier this year but found out my 22 year old Daughter had cancer and wanted to be there for her thru her chemo. (which by the way she got a PET scan done Monday and by the Grace of God almighty things are really going very well and should be completely done by Nov.) So it well be a few more months and when talking to recruiting I requested a 780. I live in Oklahoma City and already it will be 3 weeks at a time before i get to swing by the house and if I have to be gone 3-4 weeks at a time I want to be comfortable. Could you have gotton another 780 or waited for one? With the training thing most companies run the truck as team and not a solo getting properly trained so for that I want to say to thank you for not wanting to train people if you dont get the opportunity to train correctly. Therefore making the roads safer. Thanks!!!

He had to turn in his particular 780 because it was a newer one. I drive one that I got when I started in April that had only 240,000 on it. Every week when I'm at the yard they seem to be getting a 780 detailed and ready for a new driver. Most of our trucks are Volvo's, we just put 50 new KW's on the road the last 2 months. Put 50 new Volvo's on the road the last month. From what I know the new Mack's we have are all handed out. Runningman being the last driver to get the last new Mack. We have a bunch of new Cascadia's coming in now. So, in essence, when you come onboard, you more than likely will be given a Volvo like the one I got. Hope that helps. Oh, but more importantly, God bless your daughter and family, that's great to hear about her PET scan.

I wonder whose truck I took over(Volvo 780). I'm teaming with my dad. Just started last week.

    Thank you Sir.
    #1409

Everyone that we ran into at the Richmond yard was surprised that we ended up with the newer truck. From what I understand they usually give newer models to the teams or vets who have settled in at the company.

Since you are teaming, that is why you got the new truck. I lucked out and got a 2013 and most asked me the same thing. I really don't know other than it was available? But I had a lot of truck troubles when I first started, so maybe they felt bad. LOL

1409 is the truck I just got out of..... Really no issues with that truck except the brakes squealing badly when stopping. I wrote it up when I got out if the truck. Hope it treats you well.
