You are paid your G.I benefits and you receive a pay check for work performed from Schneider. The apprenticeship program is just a way to get your benefits while working. I frankly cant believe the government is okay with that but I took advantage. You only get money for a year, it stops after that. Schneider will not send you to school, you need a CDL to get hired.

thanks for info. I also spoke with Schneider as well. They told me I would need to go to a school in order to get my Class A once I'm nearly complete that I need to get a hold of them (Schneider) to let them know Im nearly finished. They will start the paper work for the Apprenticeship program that way its ready when I go in for orientation. May I ask how things went for you in the program. Did you ride along with a senior driver, then started team driving and then went solo? Also how much did you get from the VA as well as Schneider? I know the program is a year long curious to know if I had to team drive with a Senior driver for the whole year or did you become a solo driver soon? Thanks in advance.

Allright, you got some wrong ideas about Schneider. I have written many posts about Schneider bulk just look them up. First you go to orientation, then you get on a trainer truck for about two weeks, then you qualify solo, then you get your truck. If you want to team let them know but very few in bulk team and nobody will force you to do it. Nobody will even ask.
I think I got like 1100 bucks a month while I was in the program.
I might be your trainer if you go to Houston, that is where I run out of. -
im located in North Carolina right now. I havnt started school yet so I have a while before things start to kick off. in about a week or so i will be getting in contact with a school that accepts gi bill and post 911 to see about enrolling. Then I will go from their. thanks for the info man. Two weeks is alot shorter than I thought it would be. Was the 1100 from the VA and from Schneider or just 1100 from just the VA?
-
1100 from the
VA. As a rookie you should make 700 to 900 a week in bulk from Schneider. That is a full week, not going home week. -
if you want the majority of your school paid for go with the post 9/11. the only down fall to this is that you will only be paid a percentage of bah depending on how much active duty time you have. if you go with the regular gi bill lets say 1607 , you will have to pay for school out of pocket. but once you get into the apprenticeship program you monthly payment would be bigger that if you went with the post 9/11. the reason why i know this is bc i start school in bout 2 weeks and my mom's boyfriend drives for schneider .

I did post 9/11, just a heads up, the BAH is paid on the address where your OC is, not your HOR, unfortunately Green Bay is one of the lowest, it takes better part of 3 months for that first check too
-
thanks for the heads up , i plan on going with schneider once i finish school. and im using the post 9/11 as well .
-
of course i know HOR is but define "OC" please so that I understand more. Thanks.

OC means operating center if im correct
