    Roehl
    CR England
    pam
    USA Truck
    prime
    Swift
    Knight
    werner

Out of these companies which one would be the best to go through CDL school and become a driver with them. I am looking for the best home-time, Pay, miles, and don't want to have to sign a lengthy contract IE: anything over 12 months. Any incite would be great.

I thought I had whittled it down but lost all of my information when my computer crashed last week.

Stay away from pam and usa. I have several friends that got trained through c1 for them and up and left by the time 3 month mark rolled around. Hard to compare them bescause I dont have my research anymore, but I know Knight Refridgerated seemed good to me. Whoever you choose, no matter what, stick with your first company for at least a year. Even if you have to work for slave wages. 1) After one year the world will open about 60% of its doors as most goodncompanies want at least one year at experience. If you can last two years even better the. The rest of the trucking world will open up to you and assuming you keep your driving record clean you can choose any job you want. 2) You will be showing your next company that you dont just give up and you will be known as someone who can get the job done. You will have a good rep in this industry. I have a friend that has worked for 4 companies in 3 months because at first sign of troublebhe heads for the hills. He was let go by his last company for a fine by the dot for major inspection voolations. He cant get a driving job now. If he wouldbhave stuck it out at first job and this happened hed be driving instead of crashing his girlfriends couch. If your life is in danger or there are huge issues then by all means leave, but if it is because your dm said something mean or a friend tells you he is makkng xxx amoubt of money. Stay where you are at because he is probably lying to get the recruiting bonus or he may not be getting a lot of miles. Sorry this is long but hope it helps. Good luck and God speed.

CRST Van Expedited will send you through a 2 week course, enough to teach you how to get your CDL, Then you would go out with a lead driver for approx. 28 days. If the lead driver passes you (which most do), you are labeled a co-driver, and you team up with another co-driver to complete your 8 month term commitment.

i would look at millis transfer. werner puts out some good drivers. since the crash of 2008 they have been a bit screwy with employing the students after training.

Well I guess I will stay away from CRST then because I don't want to be a team driver longer than a month.

Look for a CDL school through a local community college. Chattanooga States program was $1100 and under no contract.
