Everyone has totally gotten off the point of this thread, I am or was trying to point out the inadequate way Transam uses their bait and switch techniques to lure (bully) new drivers into leasing a truck. I wish I could name names, but I wont because I'm sure they would try to sue me for anything I have left, which isn't much because I lost pretty much everything working for them. They know who they are in Rockwall, TX. And to make it worse they are Gator fans.

I didn't just now start complaining, just got tired of complaining and no one doing anything about it. I have complained a bunch.....trust me.

It's not just about the rate though. For comparison, Knight and JCT pay about the same per mile including the FSC. Knight doesn't pay FSC on deadhead miles while JCT does. Knight pays a reduced rate on deadhead miles while JCT pays the same rate as loaded. Knight charges l/p's for about half a dozen mics. expenses that JCT doesn't. JCT also isn't bashful about deadheading drivers while Knight acts like deadheading a driver to someplace more productive is one of the seven deadly sins. In JCT case the deadhead pay makes them more competitive with a % rate model because there is no deadhead pay at all then. Not all l/p programs are created equal and most are design to get the freight delivered without paying the driver with no intention of ever having a driver own the truck. There are a few l/p programs though that do give someone with some business savy the chance to own a truck and become a true O/O.DoneYourWay Thanks this.

well when I leave transam and I will
I will know it was my error signing up to lease
they didn't kidnap any of my kids to make me do it
was just sitting in the lounge in rockwall with a driver who is estatic with his lease after a year
so everyone isn't made equal -
I have 6 more months to get a few kinks out of my life then will move on

And one thing you're missing, or not saying, is in most, if not all, L/P programs, the company holds all the cards. They arrange your loads, they control your miles, they tell you where you can fuel, get the truck serviced, etc. What kind of "businessman" would enter into such an agreement, knowing the odds of succeeding are stacked against them?
As stated before, I believe most L/P's are just buying a job. Nothing more.DoneYourWay Thanks this. -
I think that is still a respectable paycheck, for a 4 week total. In my last job I was lucky to clear 1270 take home for the month.

The kind that has done his homework, wants to own a truck, and doesn't have the resources to obtain traditionally financing. Which is a lot fewer than are actually in l/p programs.

Parking lot sweeper. I was content with the job, when I was getting between 700+ to 800+ every two weeks. Then it dropped to 5 to 6 every two weeks.
