At least you know how much you get paid. I don't find out how much my loads pay until the next Friday after on payday. Actually, normally they don't even tell you, I have to ask for a load payout sheet.

 

I try to run it at night. And it's not the traffic lights but all the heavy ### trucks that make it bad. Catch 1 red light and it will take 3 cycles to get thru it because nobody's truck has balls enough to get going with a little 40k payload on. And being refined to using ONLY the right lane sucks in those towns.

What does it cost to run I-80 ? like $35 across IN ? That's only 9 gallons of fuel. you run 40 miles out of route, that's 5 gallons right there. I guarantee you burn another 4 hitting traffic lights, not to mention taking what ? maybe an hour and a half longer ? Doesn't make sense to me. Maybe running 20 part of the way where you can still make decent time would be practical. Or if it's just a principle thing, but dollars and cents I think it pays to pay the toll.

 

Some people avoid the toll roads so they don't have to worry about their log books matching up with the toll receipts.
