Nothing scientific, but from what I have observed over the past many months, it seems that I have seen DC's who had an opening listed and then removed the listing, then came back about 6 weeks later and posted the job listing again. Sealy was one of them as well as a few DC's in Pennsylvania that I clearly recall seeing. The reason was because the pool of applicants they had did not yield enough drivers, so they posted the job listing again. Sealy, where I applied to, ran their posting from May 8 to June 6, 2013. On July 23 the posting appeared again because they only yielded 3 drivers, when they needed about 10, and ran up until last Tuesday, August 20, 2013. If Sealy does not get enough drivers from this next batch, the listing could appear yet again. If you are not in a real rush to apply, give it a few more weeks and see what new openings appear. You may get lucky and the Brooksville, FL location pops up again.....or a DC more desirable than what is available now.

I got one too. Don't worry, its not a credit score check, they are looking for check fraud, bad illegal stuff like that. My credit, thanks to a divorce and crappy health insurance with deductibles I had no hope of affording, is pretty grim, but IS improving, but that was also a concern of mine and so I asked HR and Mike (our GTM) and was assured I didn't have a worry. I'm here, so I can assure you that you need not worry about your credit score. Hope to see you and the others soon. I am absolutely loving this job. Hard to believe we actually get PAID to have fun. Yeah, not joking, actually look forward to starting a new day. It WAS hard on me the first couple weeks, the being away from home and the major life change, but all of a sudden it hits you! Of course you won't go through that cuz you're local to start with. See ya soon.

Just had a guy transfer out of Toby just before I got here, was flying up from Florida and back home. Toby is going to open hiring again late October from what I was told, as they only got FOUR of the 14 they initially wanted. Corporate dictates to the DCs when (and how many) they can hire. They need to fill about 38, tried for 14, got 4 (me being the first, still hard to believe), and took over 200 applications (heresay, no official confirmation on that number 'wink wink' if you get my drift) to get THAT. Shows just how hard it really is to get on, and man, I don't take a bit of it for granted. Pottsville is ALWAYS short cuz everyone uses them for a foot in the door, then transfer out, same with Tobyhanna, both VERY busy DCs, so always in need of drivers, but having difficulty finding ones that meet the guidelines. I'm very happy and proud to be here, so go for it, it's more than worth it. Best of luck.

im hoping Brooksville pops back up again soon. sounds like there is at least maybe a slim chance. im not in a huge rush im fortunate enough to have a good job now, not as good as walmart. but i can give it some more time. i need to be down there by march to accomplish want im wanting to do. theres a few other dcs that will work too flights out of Dallas, Atlanta and Charlotte are non stop 2 hrs or less so im hoping for something in those areas. but if after a few more weeks Pottsville may start looking better and better lol

Oh yeah, uniform update. Thay came, finally...all LONG SLEEVE! I don't even wear long sleeves in the WINTER time! So, I get to wait another 3-4 weeks. *sigh*. Moral of this story...Walmart isn't the only company having a hard time finding good help LOL.

    Nite all.

In the hiring process at which point will they contact your current employer? After first interview? Or after second interview? Or do they even contact them? Thanks.

After the first interview. Once you pass that interview, pre-trip and road test, they will have you sign a release to verify past employment. At that point, it is your job to lose because all that will be needed is verifying your application, passing a DOT physical and drug screen, and criminal background check.

The DC in the Dallas area, in Sanger, TX, had a job posting come down back in mid-July, so if they are still needing a bigger pool of drivers, you could see that DC show up again in the job listings soon too.
