So at the present time, there is a hiring freeze on the flatbed division out of my area. I made another thread here recently asking about the flatbed division. But I may have an offer for dry van at the present time. It may open up for flatbed down the line. Fine by me. Not a big deal at all. However, I would like to hear from ROEHL dry van drivers, who have factual and detailed experiences of what to expect. Pay, Miles, Freight range, Detention pay, Truck governs... Etc. Only temporary, seeing as how I will be going over to flatbed division when it opens up in my area, but I'm the type to never wanna walk into anything blind. Any Roehl drivers who are in dry van division, who can enlighten me more, I would greatly appreciate it.

I drive van national. without going into all the crazy details I will say this about Roehl. I have been paid fair, treated with respect, i have good equipment and support, and carry my weight and put in an honest days work everyday. Miles and or freight, a non issue for me. Sometimes longer, sometimes shorter, sometimes live, sometimes drop hook. I'm not sure how that works out but I'm pretty sure they have a method to level everything out. I try to just do my job and be left alone...for the most part thats the case.

I'm also pretty impressed with my co-workers. Not sure how they do their hiring but am pretty impressed with my colleagues.

I was offered or at least recruited a few months ago for a regional dedicated run but wanted to stay out in the big country. From what I understand it is fairly easy to change divisions or fleets if you are looking for a change or if something opens up.

From something you've mentioned before in the flatbed thread about northeast, mountains and snow. You'll do more of that with the van division here for sure. Usually in and out but depending on how long you stay out you'll at least make a trip up there especially from NC. It's good experience and I'm sure in flatbed they go into some harry spots as well. Pay after a while will be better than most. If you show you can run they'll keep you moving and if your not then that fm isn't for you and get assigned one that will. Most people tend to accept it and up n quit. Truck 63 mph, freight a mix of light and heavy, a lot of paper products and a mix of everything else.
