I wish I could have gone to Great Lakes, but they were not accredited at the time and I didn't have the money. I went to Hamrick, not the wisest choice..

So are you done with school and driving yet Drac? Haven't seen any updates in awhile.
-
Yeah, I'm done. Just gotta take my state test..

3 attempts and 3 failures, got the pre-trip and straight line back with no problem. Its the blind side offset that always gets me. Cancelled my externship which means I have to do 5 more weeks at the school just to get my certificate to show I attended school. The Class B employers have gotten real strict on hiring drivers that have not driven in a few years, they want to see that certificate to even being considered for an opening.

On Friday the 13th I finally passed my state test and now the proud holder of a Class A CDL. That extra 5 weeks was well worth it..

Just graduated from Great Lakes. The absolute best!!! The instructors will see to it that you are ready to pass the CDL test or you won't get scheduled for the test without a few more days of practice. Their job placement service is excellent. You should have no excuse to graduate without a job from here. As for funding, I couldn't afford it or qualify for the grants either. I found a way to save for it and pay for it. My new job has tuition reimbursement.
Drac1985 Thanks this.
