Tinytim, Nobody wants to drive tired they want to rest. But if your out there driving you do get tired facts of life. That is why most people stop to rest and why there is laws mandating rest periods. It is wasting time to stop after driving only a short time to take another 10 hr break, just so you do not get tired. You get tired by working so at the end of your drive time your tired and exhausted.
There was a time I rarely got much sleep, only when I was loading or unloading. Rest of the time I was rolling and rolling hard to make my appointment times. Get a load at 5PM and have to be 899 miles away by 8AM. Get unloaded and spend the day running around NJ to get reloaded and be back in Atlanta at 8AM the next day. That driving exhausted.

bahahahahah that boy had to leave bc everybody kept banging on his door...
i wish I had a video cam that day!!! That smart arse look on his face left right along with his broke down reefer!!! LMAO -
Naw it was not me but I am disappointed...
I was pulling a flatbed and had a reefer guy pull in next to me. I did ask him if his reefer going to be running, when he said no, I said dang, I was hoping ot be able to hear it for they put me to sleep.Everett Thanks this. -
coastie Thanks this.
-
I can have a reefer on each side of me and I sleep right through it, but an air dryer popping off every 5 minutes, I'd take a hammer to those in a second.
-
As for Reefers they do not bother me, I do not think the ones that has issues as Charli Girl mention would bother me much. However when I did run Reefers I would run it continuously when stopped so it would not go on and off. Well I least I try to. But somethng about the Reefers running put me to sleep when I stop for the night
-
Well Coastie that was awful kind of you!! I wish all reefer drivers were that considerate. It's really just when it's nice out and you're able to save fuel and have your windows down that one will irritate me.

It's funny because I've made a couple backs around trailer butts before but ALWAYS balk at the idea of backing around a car hauler.
-
With a 48' spread axle flatbed I'm just as long backed in or nosed in because I can't hang the back of the trailer over the curb. I always look for a good nose in spot, it's easier and more quiet.

Back when I ran regional in a super b it never fit in ts. Even if you backed it in.
