That's cool. I'm not huntin, lol. If I see u I will probably say hi. I'm 8516. I've got a lightweight little load I picked up in Mississippi and taking it to North Carolina. I can't believe this. I lucked out somehow. It only weighs about 7500lbs. I will take em how I get em I guess. Easy little run.

Pssh that's heavy.
My lightest was 1500 from laredo to cali -
I haven't been that lucky yet. That's too funny. Would have been cheaper to rent a pick-up truck or fed ex lol. Probably cost more in fuel than the product
-
Too big. It was 20 feet long lol

If a driver lives in Cali, where would I do orientation in Tulsa? Also how is orientation at Melton. Thanks
-
I would imagine your orientation will be in Tulsa.
overall the experience wasn't bad. A little nerve racking because people were dropping like flies. I'm sure it was mostly their own fault. Melton wants people who are capable of doing their job and doing it safely. They drug test, and make sure u can physically handle it. There are females who can do this, older guys too. I really like it here at Melton. They take care of their people and equipment. This is my opinion. I can't speak for everyone. If there's anything I can do to help, just let any of us know. I haven't found anyone here who wouldn't jump in with both feet to help each other.Lupus05 Thanks this. -
Do you recall the kinds of things that were getting people out of orientation. I just got a voicemail from Melton today asking me to call back to confirm orientation. Now I'm all nervous about picking this company, which I've heard nothing but good things about, and not making it through orientation. I've never had another driving job before. My MVR is spotless. What could get me out of orientation, other than failing the physical or Urine analysis? I'm pretty sure that my previous jobs can't say anything other than that they would or wouldn't rehire me, so I don't see that playing a huge roll in my hiring process. I put right in my application that I was fired and the reason why. Are the people getting kicked out just acting like morons at orienation..? I'm pretty confident that other than maybe being a little nervous, I'll make a good impression at orientation.
Also, what is the physical like? I'm a big guy, 6ft around 285. Am I gonna get tossed out for being overweight? -
Just use common sense. You will be urine tested for drugs, they take hair from you and test it too. The physical is normal except you will balance on each foot for at least 30 seconds and they expect you to pick up a tarp and place it on a trailer. 3 tarps, each is a little heavier than the next. Sounds like u won't have a problem with that. I know some guys just couldn't drive. They failed the driving test. It's simple. If u haven't been in a truck for a while and your a bit rusty then it will come back to you pretty fast. That was my case. I'd been out of the truck for 17 years. They work you back in while your with a trainer. If you come from another company then you will be assigned a truck right out of orientation.

I'm not trying to deter anyone from coming to Melton. The last reply was my honest opinion. I was nervous. Other guys were too. But most get excepted.
