viruses, trojans, and other malicious software can find it's way into tablets as well as notebooks, and androids are probably the most susceptible since they are the most "open" in terms of OS and apps architecture. Definitely sounds like the OP has some sort of malicious trojan software on it. Stay away from the porn sites and you'll be a few steps ahead of the game
Nothing is guaranteed secure but IMO secure OS are ranked worse to best in terms of "secure" and there is probably quite a bit of a gap between IOS and Windows and not much of a gap between Android and Windows ....
worse - Android
ok - Windows
better - IOS (Iphone/Ipad)
Is my tablet watching me?

That us why i switched to apple with everything android wanted to know too much stuff look at the permissions next time you download an app. You'll be sickened. Also I heard reported the other day they google doesn't imply any security on their gmail accounts and said that they look through your email to offer you deals and adds
Kinda sketchy to me f android they are cheap but they take more than money from you
Also iOS doesn't crash every ten minutes I have three iPads two iPhones and an iPod never once have I had a problem that wasn't self inflicted I had an android tablet for 6 months I had to take it in 7 times to get fixed in fact the first one I brought home crashed that very night
So my recommendation should be clear applefr8te_sh8ker Thanks this. -

Nothing to see here. This is likely the new Android Device Manager that Google is rolling out to all Android devices. It gives *you* the ability to locate or wipe your tablet if it's stolen. It can also snap a picture. Do a search on "Android Device Manager" and there are lots of articles on it. Apple devices have had the same thing for several years. Google is just catching up.
And yes, ALL the manufacturers technically have "control" over your devices. Apple is no better or worse than Google. The intention is that only you have the actual control to do the really invasive stuff.fr8te_sh8ker and cowboy_tech Thank this. -
Apple allows you to opt of of data sharing such as email and what not when you activate a new device

I would hazard a guess that unless you take the battery out of it, like cellphones. Someone can hack it and take pictures if they wanted. Whether a software from a big company already is doing that, I'd say read that big honking terms of agreement that itunes, google or whatever stuff you are using has. Essentially you sign away all your privacy for using their software.

If you want to take the ultra safe view, turn off all your electronic devices that make a connection to the Internet and sell them. Then get rid of your cell phone even if it's a basic phone. That is the only real way to ever get away from the potential of eavesdropping or tracking. Outside of that, accept that using free stuff or mobile technologies there will be compromises. In these cases, the compromise is access to your information in one form or another OR the potential of misuse by the folks who run it. Anyway, to be specific, remote control of devices by Apple or Google employees is highly unlikely. These places have separation of duties and controls in place that make that difficult. Not impossible, but very difficult. Worry more about the unknown companies and the government.
In reality, people are giving away their information willingly. How about Facebook or public postings on Internet sites where someone could figure out where you are and who you are?fr8te_sh8ker Thanks this. -
