Just have a quick question regarding the drug testing at TA. I currently drive for a larger, well known company. I obviously passed the urinalysis done there. But, I currently have very long hair. I freely partook in marijuana about a yr or so ago. The question I have is twofold: First, what type of testing does TA do?, and would I be likely to fail a hair follicle test. I'm about 6'6", 210 lbs. How far back does the hair test go. I've been clean for quite some time, and would never drive a rig intoxicated, but I would hate to be caught off guard by a test that went back too far. Can anyone answer these questions for me? Much obliged .

I took a hair follicle test last week for Schneider.
I was told it goes back 4 months, but I have also heard it can go back 6 months.
If yours was 1 year ago, you should be OK.

Go have a hair follicle test done yourself and that will let you know exactly where you stand. Doesn't cost that much but will give you the surety you are looking for! Also I have heard that a lot of hair follicle tests are taken from under your arms. (arm pit hair)
Not a lot of company do the hair tests. Its a lot more expensive. -
Transport America does the Hair test. It is my understanding that a hair test goes back three months. You should be fine. And if you are not what do you think you lose? Go get your hair cut and get rid of the long hair hippie and you will be fine.

I did a hair test before. They take an inch closest to your scalp. It goes back three months.
If your worried about it....get a hair cut. Plus, they sell shampoos to cleanse your hair.
All the best
