Swift spoils New drivers

Well I did it I went local with NFI and I will tell you Swiftys got it easy compared to here Im not saying this is a bad company just ai was spoiled by Swift.

1st of all NFI has the old Qualcomms u do the usually macs 123456 then the want everything wrote on a pay sheet for each trip and when u are doing 4 stops its a lot of stuff a lot after you already put it in the mac 1 good thing u get paid every mile they pay by your odmeter.

I thought communication was bad at Swift they seem lost here and dont have a clue whats going on it seems and other drivers told me this before I started.

Pay is much better and got me a set schedule working 4days a wk for close to $1200 a wk 3 days off I deliver to same stores everynight. I run from STL toChicago back to STL deliver and go home for my break.

I had a bad first run not really anything I could do I was suppose to leave at 19:00 run up to Chicago grab load and back to deliver and be done by 09:00 well that didnt happen I arrived at yard at 06:30 my truck was not there I call dispatch because the yard has office but inly banking hrs I also have a codriver drives during day.

Well he got stuck at shipper he didnt make it back til almost 9 and truck had no fuel and needed scaled to take backhaul to dc I didnt get out of stl til almost 10 and it just messed me all up the stores took forever I unld to end of trlr but they wherent ready when I arrived the stores just slowed me done way to much and I got back at ysrd st 11:45 I had to use 16hr ext which they do let you use once a wk and was nothing I could do anyways the stores had no parking and I drive a daycab.

So asked if the could cover me tonght becuase I was suppose to start around 17:00 I said theres no way and it would just mess up my next 3days they said no problem we can cover it for you they where really nice about it but I wouldnt have be able to leave stl til 10:30.

Comes to find out the dc has a bullpen they pay 10drivers everynight to sit there and wait to see if they are needed its part of there work week scheduled $225 each whether they work or not they are paid LOL.

Doesnt seem like the smartest company from that and are loads are always less than 14pallets.

So tommorrow I start fresh my codriver is off and he said he is only late.on Fridays

They treat you a lot better than Swift so far they even gave me a hat and said throw that dirty Swift hat away.

 

Not money but with those new qualcomms you are lucky they do everything compared to these old junk ones ya I like just wish they would strap loads I do first store then the whole load moves from front of trailer to the middle falls over then I gotta restack it.

Doesnt help they use plastic pallets and a metal floor it just slides

 

Been with them 2wks not to bad im a slip seater I work 4days a week and make $1200 a wk they seem very unorganized or the account I run seems that wsy anyways I like them so far so run every night all I know im off the road and home with the family thats all that matters to me
