Don't get Sharpp talking about the food. LOL I really like the chart you did for the mpg Sharpp. I copied it and am eyeing where I will need to be to be successful. I should be arriving to the hotel for JCT on Saturday. I will be turning my tractor in on Friday in Chicago and getting my rental car to start heading down to Oklahoma. Yippee If any JCT drivers are in the area over the weekend hit me up.
    Thanks

Yes, I do like food! Congratulations on your decision to run with us. I'm sure you'll do well. I just talked with Javada and she'll be looking out for you. I'm sure that you'll get some extra "special" treatment! Actually, if you survive her driving from the motel to the yard, nothing she can do later will be able to scare you!

It's crazy hot here in Sapulpa. The humidity is off the charts too. But I went out and did a quick, unofficial survey of the trucks in the corral for this weeks class. There were two Kenworths, two Peterbilts, six Cascadias including at least one new Evolution, and about a dozen ProStars. My advice to you Soule Man is to ace the exam for first choice! Be sure to give us the write up on your class. Inquiring minds want to know!

In other business, I ended up the Qualcomm week with over 3,200 miles and 7.2 mpg. The mileage includes the lousy mpg I got (for about 700 miles) after the valve work. It will be a better pay week with last weeks Ochelata - Stockton run backed up by this Salinas - Ochelata trip. I don't have my notebook here but it will be about 3,600 miles paid. After delivering in the morning, I'm off on the Tulsa - Union City load for a little over 1,900 miles. That load delivers Monday and will get me through the house with plenty of time to do some laundry and install a new garbage disposal. I've got a feeling that that trip will be the only one for the following week. If I get anything out of California with decent miles, it will deliver too late to make the check and I never ask for any special "late" pays. That is an option that JCT offers at no charge for you 10 or 12 times a year.

I'm in the shop waiting on some new steer tires. Hopefully the truck will drive like new!

There were 2 Pete's and 2 KWs available this week. They don't reserve or guarantee any model. However they do allow you to trade up after 90 days.

Do the Prostars have the Maxxforce engine? I've heard a lot of bad things about that engine. I had a Prostar midroof when running metal a few years ago with the ISX engine and it ran like a champ.

When you guys are talking about the exam is it on JCT specific stuff or general knowledge?

I know that at least SOME of our Prostars have the Cummins. In my case, the exam was based on the Smith System (http://www.smith-system.com/). It's open-book but with some tricky questions. Soule Man has promised to update us when he goes through orientation next week.

From their web site the Prostars have the ISX motors in them. That is just off the reading and from what people have told me.
As for the exam they are talking about I believe they were saying it was on the safety, backing, and driving part. The betyer you do on all 3 the better pick you will have.

I will start my own thread once I get a couple of days into the orientation. I don't want to jinx myself. LOL
    Thanks again
