What type of work? If you are specialized it may be tough to find owner operators. Do you have direct customers or do you work off boards? Many owner operators may not want to take a chance on a small company without a good freight base. You certainly have less risk if you take a percentage and don't have to purchase the equipment.MSS Thanks this.

Good answer. I am looking to hire more car hullers, SD and FB owner operators. I don't thing many of them will pass on 3+$ per mile.

hire o/o , hiring drivers and then dealing with resulting issues is a pain. an o/o has some skin in the game, usually works out better

I'd second that. A friend with many years in told me as a boy, "if he's worth his salt, he'd have his own" makes sense to me.
you can find good employees I guess...I don't know anyone that I'd hire. -
it's that to the truck, or gross before your cut? also, you are gonna have to back that number up, guys aren't gonna just take your word for it.

We wont hear from him again, unless he register another account.
d o g Thanks this. -
thanks mate, hadn't noticed that tag under his name.

I'd rather hire O/OPS give them freight and collect a percentage, than to hire drivers to worry about equipment maintenance, damage, or even equipment loss. O/OPS are more safety conscious, they pay for their own maintenace and are more dedicated.

You must choose a great driver if you are hiring them.
