Just worked with canyon today, only my second job ever working alongside them, they do a few things a bit different from the regular frackers I work with but they got the job done, that's about all I can say about them, except they were so friggin slow getting their iron off my tool that I almost didn't make road ban and had to somewhat exceed the posted limit...

Thanks for the feedback james, trying to get away from OTR and hopefully a more predictable home time routine. They want me to stop by for an interview, so just trying to get feed-back before making the 12ish hour drive to GP from kelowna. How "plentiful" are camp accommodation trucking jobs in the North country?

Kelowna, hell yeah brother I live in Vernon! Come work at my shop in sylvan lake, we need 2 swampers pretty quick, I left sylvan last night, worked drayton today, now in edson for tomorrow and should be up in gp the day after... Man if you can work around red deer, only 8 hours home instead of 12, and better roads

Right on, good to know some Okanagan Bros doing well in the patch. I never thoght of Red Deer, was originally looking in Hinton but couldn't find much there. Who are you working for... if you don't mind me asking - I might be a little long in the tooth (46) for the "swamper" position!

Man I am 42 and only just over a year in... Swamper consists of helping the operator spot a tool on the wellhead, tighten 8 or 16 nuts, help the frackers rig their iron pipe onto our tool, then sit in a truck for hours and hours on end, rig out, go home or to next job...
canadian wellhead isolation, division of stream flo. Swampers start at 3k guarantee and $27/chargeable truck hour, after 3 months its 3,500 and $30, I got in at the right time and made operator in 6 months but I don't see much movement anytime soon, shift is 15/6. It's not hard work and pays pretty good if you ask me.

Thanks dude, I appreciate the help. I'll drive up there and hand in my Resume in person next week. It seems going in person is the only way to make it happen.

My swamper is my buddy from Vernon also, they like us BC boys cause we work, everyone else leaves at lunch on shop days, we come back and go through trucks make sure everything is good and ready. But I don't blame the local guys, they have lives and families here, we do it out of sheer boredom!

fracking tends to be a fairly heavy workout rigging in. so at 46 unless you're in pretty decent shape you may find it to be a bit much. I was doinf it 5 years ago, but have got out of shape at my present job, and I know it would be #### tough for me to get back into it, and N2 iron is lighter than the rest of frack stuff. 5 years of 1" rig ins has spoiled me.

Also you guys should be aware that i pay for my own apartment in sylvan and meals, my own way back and forth home etc... Calfrac I know will fly you feed you and house you if you are an out of towner. Not sure about other frac companies. If you wanna drop balls like me, our competition IES, isolation equipment services is way busier, they have 85% of the market an you are working pretty much entire hitch, I prefer the smaller shop though and still make 6 figs so am happy.
