Massachusetts won't even think twice about tossing you in jail for any kind of concealable guns. And your in for a real big treat if you go to Canada.. Even carrying ammo.. And you think the TSA is bad at cavity searches?

I also have the lil Bat tire thumper sits next to the fire extinguisher. I'd rather have and not Use than not have at all

Get one of those aluminum bat tire thumpers. I was gonna get one but then I might be tempted to actually use it...
I do have a hammer under the bunk that will work in a pinch. I slept with it beside me one night in Jersey. -

I personally carry a firearm, but I have a WCL that is recognized in 6 of the 8 states I travel in. You may hear many tales and fables, but the FMCSA has no laws for the carrying of firearms and the Department of Transportation states that its a matter of state law (https://ntl.custhelp.com/app/answer...2LzEvdGltZS8xMzUyMDgxNTExL3NpZC9ialRxeHRhbA==).
If you wish to carry a taser or firearm, TN is in a reciprocity agreement with many states. You would need to check with your TN gun rights chapters for which states. You can get information on individual state laws of CCL regulations, transporting firearms without a WCL, and knife, taser, etc regulations at this site: http://www.handgunlaw.us
The other issue would be company regulations, and there are states that dictate that a firearm can not be carried in a vehicle belonging to another person or entity, without their permission.
Many drivers carry firearms, and the chances of them being found are slim. It typically depends on how much you talk about it, and how your treat the officers; which may prompt them into a search. It would be a very rare occasion that any driver would need protection while traveling down the road. What ever your carry, keep your mouth shut about it, don't display it, be polite to officers, and keep it locked up until you come to a stop for the evening; then shut the curtains and load it up. If there is a rare instance that you would have to use it; I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
The only other issues (that I can think of) on carrying any type of weaponry is whether or not you go into Canada or make pick up and/or deliveries to federal buildings, military bases, prisons, etc.UTurn1 Thanks this. -
HANDGUNS
California Penal Code section 25610 does not prevent a citizen of the United States over 18 years of age who is not lawfully prohibited from firearm possession, and who resides or is temporarily in California, from transporting by motor vehicle any pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person provided the firearm is unloaded and stored in a locked container.
The term "locked container" means a secure container which is fully enclosed and locked by a padlock, key lock, combination lock, or similar locking device. This includes the trunk of a motor vehicle, but does not include the utility or glove compartment. For more information, refer to California Penal Code sections 16850.
SHOTGUNS AND RIFLES
Nonconcealable firearms (rifles and shotguns) are not generally covered within the provisions of California Penal Code section 25400 and therefore are not required to be transported in a locked container. However, as with any firearm, nonconcealable firearms must be unloaded while they are being transported. A rifle or shotgun that is defined as an assault weapon pursuant to Penal Code sections 30510, 30515, or 30520 must be transported in accordance with Penal Code sections 16850, 25610, and 30945, subdivision (g). -
This is a funny thread even though its a serious topic, self defense. I know that it is legal in the State of Indiana for any trucker to carry a concealed tazar without any permits as long as your not a convicted felon. As for crossing over State lines into Michigan you will be committing a 4th degree felony. Each State is different, as for Federal authority that is a different story I suppose (and hard to get)
As a Canadian I can surely tell you that stun guns or tazers are prohibited weapons in Canada requiring a prohibited weapon license. There is only one courier in Canada that has a contract to import tazars (in the trailer) for sale to Canadian law enforcement agencies and authorized companies or individuals. Claiming such weapon at Canadian Customs openly and honestly will have your tazer confiscated and a strong verbal warning.
As for the cow prod, I know that is not a prohibited weapon in Canada for instance but shouldn't the driver be a cow hauler or have the occasional cow hauler (or pig hauler) contract for carrying a device like that? I wouldn't want to get caught with one without just cause for carrying one besides jolting the next meth hungry assailant.UTurn1 Thanks this. -
Some of those tazers for sale out there aren't worth a flip. You need to do the research to get a good kind. I deputy sherriff showed me his tazer and it was a really good one, I wish I could remember the name of it. However there was a guy selling cheap ones one time. I guess I was just being an idiot, but I tried it against my arm and it didn't do a thing.

I carried a Ruger Red hawk Taser for 26 years. Used it once. N. Y. Gave it back. Seams I was shot by one of their less savory people. I promised never to go back. My House, My Rules. Live in the truck, My domicile.
