My hubby is looking to leave Swift (numerous reasons, mostly bad experiences with FMs) and we're searching for a company with a solid benefits plan. The driver websites don't show much detail about medical coverage and the like, so we were hoping that someone who had first-hand experience as a driver with the company could shed some light on premiums and coverage.
Would be much appreciated. As we're expecting on on the way, this is a huge deal for us.

you might want to start a thread titled "who didn't pay a lot to have their child delivered" lol. I'm at Roehl and learning their insurance program quickly. At Roehl there are some deductibles that need to be met before the insurance really kicks in. There is an initial deductible, then after that an 80/20 until a maximum annual out of pocket is met.
I can understand why insurance can be such a big issue. I wish you well. -
Man I am a Schneider driver and even I don't know that much about the insurance. I think there are three plans but honestly I don't remember how they all work, I have never had to use the insurance. I did use the vision insurance once and that was pretty nice. Best bet is to call a recruiter and ask then for the details. That way you can get all the up to date info. Wish I could help more, sorry.

same as above poster from roehl, driver alone is fairly cheap per week.I have the "choice plus" plan @ 27 a week individual. Family increases dramatically per week. HRA(health reimbursement account) is included with a bonus amount given for biometrics exam. This HRA amount rolls over year to year.starts at 500. Umm, any wellness exams or prevention are covered off the bat. had a full physical and paid nothing out of pocket or otherwise. Same for the lab bills. no cost to me.
Also have FSA available in the amount you choose up to the federal cap. This is taken out weekly so its not so bad. But its a use it or lose plan. Good only for the benefit year its paid into.
All this may be subject to change when ACA kicks in further but we havent heard anything to that effect to my knowledge.
Other than that it doesnt kick in til the first of the month after 90 full days employment. Run through UnitedHealthcare using OptumRX for script plan.

thats good info Mickeyrat....Roehl has UHC too. I don't think we have the FSA. roehl has two different plans Silver and Gold. I'm on Silver and just guessing to have a newborn you would have to pay 1st the 1050 deductible and then 20% up to a annual max of $6500...which in todays world mean you would end up paying no more than $6500 out of pocket. The gold plan has lower deductibles, I'm not sure the amount but If I recall correctly about 60% of that for the gold, prolly $4000 out of pocket to pay for the kid. It's certainly not an HMO where some 13 years ago I think I probably paid no more than a couple of hundred to have the best for our childs delivery.
Roehls doesn't seem as good as what Mickey reported for SNI, I think we are stuck paying for just about everything until deductibles are met. I don't think we have the wellness exam, etc... We also have optum rx with rather reasonably affordable deductibles for drugs. weekly premiums are probably inline with SNI, silver less, gold a bit more. If he smokes it even costs more at Roehl. -
With SNI ,in addition to meeting the deductable before THEY pay anything, all out of pocket including RX counts toward deductable being met, which is nice. Also , you get the ins discount on costs too all the way through. SO you dont really pay "retail" for care or rx at all.
Plan I'm on has a 1800 deductable then the usual standard 80/20 ,with 4K max out of pocket for individual, not sure on family.
