per diem is your choice. You decide how many days each week on your pay envelope. I have my second one now and so far so good!

To be accurate it is better to call Scott for those questions. I do know that they just started a 4 days on/ 4 days off program that sounds good. I would say that the benefits are above average.

Nice looking truck. How many black trailers does Garner have? I'd also be interested in the miles you're getting and the per diem question. How much Chicago does Garner do? I take it when you get to WI you're usually going to the same places quite often? They do seem like a good company and one that I'm very interested in if I do take the plunge. Vdub may have had a bad experience but I do know that one bad trainer isn't a full picture of a company. Hopefully I'd be in their hiring area in Western WI. I've never seen a Garner truck that I can remember but I'm not far from Lacrosse WI or Dubuque IA. I know there's plenty of truck traffic through here.
Thanks -
I would have to estimate around 2300 average for me. But a lot depends on how you drive. Some drivers do less and others do more. They do have a minimum pay guarantee to protect you in case freight slows down. Call Scott and verify this, he would have the true averages.
EmmaGoldenfan Thanks this. -
BTW they just got 100 new trailers. They started arriving about 2 weeks ago. They are sharp!

I was just hired yesterday. I will be going out with a trainer starting monday and after training if the local job moves to cincinnati with no hang ups i will be doing that route. If not im doing the 4 on and 4 off. Great at home time either way with being new to trucking and this is my first trucking job.

Thanks GDT. Is black the only tractor color Garner has? Here's another question with Garner saying home on weekends for the most part on holidays do you go out Sunday night or Monday morning yet or are you home until Monday evening or Tuesday? Have a good Labor day weekend.

They have about 5 White ones still, they are manuals and do not have APU's. The rest are black except for the few owner operators we have. Who will your trainer be if I may ask? When you leave back out depends on when you got home and how the freight is moving. It will vary once you are in your own truck. Good luck and welcome aboard! See you on the road!

Thanks for the info. The other poster Golden 88M is the one that just got hired to start training. Hopefully that doesn't get confusing on this thread.

Chris short will be my trainer. I have to call him today and see when I need to meet him tomorrow.
