You will love this one, I pulled over at 0645 Dallas time/0445 local to take a quick power nap, had been running all night had stopped an hour up the road before this and took a 1 hr sleeper break. Mind you I have 545 miles left to run on this load, 6 hrs on my 11 and 7 on my 14 for today and fresh time when my break is up tonight. ARE YOU GONNA BE ABLE TO MAKE THIS LOAD ON TIME?......This came from my DM (didnt know DMs came in before 745 LOL.I am like OK MF'er. Bit my tounge since I had just laid down in my bunk and the message popped off and responded back yes, however it would be nice to get a repower since I was pretty fried of flipping my switches twice the past couple days and also sitting in the heat with an APU only good for 30 below ambient. I left it at that, and went to lay back down. Now he had my mind going so no power nap in my near horizon so back into the seat I go and run off my last 5 1/2 hrs and arrive at 1030 local time. But I could not contain myself any longer and sent the reply message back yeah umm 330 miles from final, 0800 local delivery tommorow, I think I should be able to make that after my 10hr break is up. Yeah I can do that. Have a great day LMAO. Backed it up with a Macro 19 Trip Plan detailing all the way down to getting my truck washed (going into cali ya know).

The first time he did this to me and woke me up was about 2 months ago and I just totally let that one slide and was all nice and cordial and everything.....This time I just couldnt bite my tonge

Now with that said, I do totally understand that the DM is held accountable and laddy laddy dahhhh but by the same token this is these are totally ramdom from my DM who by now should know me by my name and not just my truck number should be able to legitimatelybe able to know and think that I have 1 never been late on a load for any thing of my own personal doing,(well except for that one time in Nevada due to a head up my ### while moving moment ) but that was almost a year ago 2. I run the piss out of my loads to get em in on time if not early, and 3. I am a real big person on communication not only do I send in a QC but I back it up with phone calls as well when things go wrong or were bad from time of dispatch. It is hard not to take that kind of stuff personal some times. Like hello am not among the idiots that constantly diddles their load and gets it so upside down that he/she needs a relay repower or team to get it in on time...lets focus our attention there. IDK guess with the increased attention on the meat loads I should just accept it and expect it LOL. That is all:biggrin_25513:

Now that I have had my rant for the day.....On a positive note.....I cannot believe the turn around in helpfulness of the night weekend crews for the most part, the availability to get ahold of safety within a short amount of time and even road break down. Yall have really stepped it up since February and it is noticed and appreciated by myself and several of the drivers out here I run into from time to time. Keep up the great work I know it sucks doing what you do with what you have to do it. Just remember....
[h=1]“We, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.”[/h]Maybe that should be the night/weekend mantra. Just meditate and recite 10 times and alll your troubles will melt away. No Emu that does not mean this excuses you from continuing to answer the phone in order to assume the lotus position and chant. :Compass:

I have Uncle Wally's muffins and was asked if 50 hrs was enough time to cover 580 miles LOL

I guess because it is a WalMart load, who knows. It didn't upset me at all, just made me scratchy head a little..

Good for you, get New York out of the way early in so you don't have to fret and sweat it.

New York is over rated in the fear factor for new drivers. For whatever reason, people continue to treat it like the sum of all evil and disdain, causing overly exaggerated constipation amongst new drivers.
It's not bad. No different than many other east coast cities. I found it easier to drive thru Queens or the Bronx than Houston!
In all areas, take your time, be vigilent and careful and it will be fine.
I can tell you after sitting next to safety for the last year that there are FAR more accidents in truck stops than New York, Boston and Philly combined!
Once you become aquainted with and comfortable with NYC, you can make a lot of money just repowering loads into the city for a day. Then you tend to get good loads out of the area.
For all the newbies out there....take your time, be careful and watch your mirrors. You'll do fine!

I hate Houston. And Chicago's I90 during rush hour. And LA's 405 Parking Lot. And...

I guess my not responding to multiple QC messages about becoming a trainer has not been noticed. I just got a call from Stevens asking me if I was interested. I told them not at this time. Let's see how that affects my miles if at all.
