About to sign on with Panther. Is this a good idea?

I see a lot of trucks and most are dirty as far as straight trucks, TTs are clean most of the time which means to me OOs make some $ and have some priide.

Panther is all o/o company. I worked for them until abf bought them out and it seemed to be going to hell quickly.

Arkansas Best Corp. purchased Panther Expedited Services for $180 million in June, 2012. While Panther is a non-union company that Arkansas Best operates separately from its main freight unit, analysts do not see unions opposing the deal.

Are you going to be going with a Fleet Owner or do you have your own rig? Problem I have seen with solo O/O's is that you are competing with all the fleet owners. It is almost like being leased to a company with company drivers.

Personally like Panther. We haul a lot of freight for them and it pays well.

Are you TT or Straight Truck?

You'll do fine if you learn how to have patients to learn their system, take advantage of them allowing you to find your own loads and most of all understanding that the word NO does mean something to you and them.

I know a lot of people who have been with Panther and even solo they are doing fine.

Since ABF took over, solos have been doing better than teams.

Just wondering where you get this info, I've not heard it. Reports from drivers is Panther favors its team. Not saying your statement is untrue, just wondering if you drive for them and know it firsthand. As a whole the cat seems to like its fleetowners team trucks over independent solos.
