We are starting a job that will be a 4000 coast to coast run north to south but it will only be three months. What should we expect the drivers to average per day for mileage And what is good compensation for a driver per mile. We don't want rookies.

If it's a temporary thing, why hire temporary drivers? Why not work with any of a hundred reputable truckload carriers who will jump through hoops for your freight business assuming it's "good freight". If you have equipment sitting idle then I don't know. Good drivers aren't going to leave a good job for a 3 month gig because it's too difficult to get "re-hired" these days.

Pay 75% of any equipment cost on pick up. 100% on delivery. I have no way to know the equipment needed I will pay 1/4 to learn. I will add 33% more to compensate me for my trouble. Because I operate an 18 wheeler, You classify Me as a Moron. Guess What.

i'm curious as to where this 4000 coast to coast goes. albany to san diego is 2850. seattle to miami is 3250. so if it's a 4000 mile trip. it either includes canada or mexico.

I assumed it was a somewhere in perhaps western New York to west coast or near west coast, and return round trip. I think his biggest problem is going to be to convince "good drivers" he's good for the money so they can perhaps feel comfortable leaving where they are for a maybe, maybe not gig.

To the OP, there are too many variable and unknowns. I suspect this is a somewhat specialized gig requiring perhaps a lot of driver intervention on one or both ends, such as unloading?, setup? long times between loads? or securing their own return loads? ... no thanks
