Stop and Shop, Freetown MA

Years ago up in Maine there was a stop and shop chain. My understanding is that the parent company baught a chain in Flordia and had to rename their stores because there was another chain in Florida called stop and shop. Their new name was Hannaford Brothers. If your stop and shop is tied in with them, then you might want to check out Hannaford Brothers out of Scaraborough, Maine area as they are the owners. Not sure were their distribution center is. Also not sure if they have their own fleet like Shaws Supermarkets or contract it out.

 

hannaford and Stop and shop ARE 2 different companies--Stop and Shop is owned by AHOLD Intl A giant corp out of the netherlands--they control Stop and shop--giant--peapod--and I think Bi lo...........
Dont know about now--but when they still had a whse in N haven--Andrews trucking hadd a lot to do with them--but Im pretty sure the drivers were direct employees--but wouldnt be surprised if they are contracted out now--if your nearby--check their daycabs--if not marked--right down their DOT# and run it on safers--that'll give you the info you need

I know over the summer through last weekend or so, Schneider was making Stop and Shop deliveries from Ahold in Assonet, MA. It may have been a special situation, not sure.
