The guy I gave a ride from Phoenix to Fontana the other day left me a voicemail today giving me some info on the target dc in Shafter, CA near my home, I mentioned to him it would be awesome to get on that route. He told me in the voicemail he talked with a guy and got me names who run the fleet who are in the Fontana office so tomorrow im going to give a call and try to see if I can get in touch and see if there is need for any drivers right now. With any luck maybe I might get some more info and eventually a spot on that route then I can be home more especially since its only 48 miles from my house.

 

Mira Loma employee parking is sure not secure. When I got home Saturday my tailgate was missing off my truck. Security said almost everyone with a newer truck got theirs stolen on Friday. Then there's the BMW on blocks with its wheels missing in the far left parking lot...not sure how long that's been there. At least security was honest when they said they don't watch the parking lots, just the inbound/outbound freight/trailers.

 

Sitting in the driver's lounge @ the Phoenix terminal. First time I've ever actually sat down and used my computer here. I live 20 miles away so normally I just park my truck here and head home.

Waiting for a load, anything just so long as it delivers by tomorrow (so I can break even for the week).

 

yeah...i always lock my tailgate. just piises me off lol. anyways...took me 2.5 hrs to go 45 mile to final. have a trailer full of mt aluminum cans. got here 40 minutes early and they gave me a dock and already started unloading. called my dl and let him know i need next few days off to deal with this personal bs i found

 

wolfy.. that sounds great. i ask matt about a route that gives me only weekends off and said only that dollar store acct is open. have to unload the whole trailer. no thanks loll

 

The dollar store account always has openings ... lol. A guy I went to orientation with went on that account, consumed 4000 calories a day and lost weight ... great gig if you want to get and stay in shape.

Back home. My DM told me that there was no freight system wide and that PHX was short 33 loads.

On my 4th Mac30 I got one hit, a load that picked up in Yuma and delivered in SoCal. 172 MT miles, 262 loaded. At that point I grabbed a change of clothes and headed home for the rest of the day. Will try again tomorrow.

I have a load going to Romeoville IL, picking up tomorrow morning at 0900 and delivering the next at 0800.
Right around 600 miles loaded.

And the stupid computer pulls a fast one on me when I get the load assignment.
The fuel route is designed to keep me off the toll highways as much as possible.
So that is going to add both miles and time, which I can not really afford on this run.
