Wouldn't you make more $$ and have the required miles done quicker if the truck was ran as a team? More miles=More $$ or at least I think that's the name of the game called trucking!!

Don't be a job hopper; look at the big picture, the training isn't forever.

Team driving on day 2?? Is your trainer o.k. with running like a team operation so soon, or is the DM the only one pressuring you two to do that? I know I wouldn't be able to sleep with a fresh out of school trainee behind the wheel for at least a couple of weeks until I experienced the trainee's driving habits. I believe that a trainer/trainee operation should be just that, a trainer TEACHING a trainee, NOT team driving, EVER! Your trainer SHOULD be teaching you, you're a student. I believe other posters are right, sit down with your trainer and talk to him about what exactly he expects from you.
FLATBED, Tonythetruckerdude and Saddletramp1200 Thank this. -
Sorry only read the original question but from what I understand teaching is training I mean if he is letting you know specifics and spends a lot of time on lets say pre trips and saftey things that is a trainiers job yah as a trainer myself I could just hop in the seat and say screw it drive while I eat a burger and fall asleep HMM that is what my trainer did anyways OUR job is to teach you our knowledge and a traininer the first time out will be nervous and may over stress some things but just listen after all you are the student..Not a good idea for a new driver to already be making a big stink over something small its a way to gain a bad reputaion in the industry theres a reason they trust some people to be trainers
