Pulled my toy out of the garage, gave her the quarterly bath. I checked miles and realized I've driven her 171 miles this year so off for a 29 mile hide and seek game with the highway patrol. Then I can say I drove her 200 miles this year and put her back in the garage till next spring.

If I didn't have to take the kids to school in the mornings I'd be on my way. 20 hours later I could totally be there.

As is usual, always too good to be true, the phone just rang, I didn't recognize the number and made the mistake of answering it. So Tomorrow evening I'm off to Dallas bobtail to get a trailer then back to Tulsa, OK to load a 17' wide X 70' long going to Savannah, GA at 10:00 am. So much for my weekend at home. Guess that's why my mid-life crises only got 200 miles on it this year.

Um, you do know how to say no, correct?? The money they offered must be great, but for some reason I thought you were on salary?

I wish I was on a true salary but no, however I am on daily pay most of the time so the days I'm working, waiting, sitting etc all pay the same. As for using the word no, well I try but it's in that tone range they can't hear. I was aware of this load last week but was hoping they would find another truck for it but alas they didn't.

Well, once you drop that Savannah, come get that tall load out of Miami and I'll bring you a cafe con leche y media noche from the Pilot in Medley. Bienvenidos a Miami.

I really wish I knew who was hauling 8 axle freight for 5 axle rates. I'd sure like to smack them and tell them to knock that crap off.

Seriously 11 6 wide 14 3 tall 68,000 lbs from Utah to Maryland for 2.65 a mile and the broker had one covered at that rate and couldn't understand why I was laughing.

I'm pretty sure they moved that last week but I sure could go for another cup of Cubano coffee.

Please tell me that's plus permits. I've hauled a 10' long 2' by 2' 3,000 lb box from Ogden to O'hare for $2.65 to the truck.
