Yea if you get a decent paying job then theres no need to lose sleep. Part-time they play all sorts of games with you. They moved a lot of Line-haul out of florida anyways. The company is doing better, brand new trucks and trailers I see more and more of, yet they still refuse to give us back the 15%

Now I'm in Memphis. It's too hot down here. I wanna head back north.
-
went in at 8pm for my start time, did a 152 Philly run which is our longest run on my bid (162 miles each way) got there, sat for a hour, then told to do my drop/hook to my van and placard it, so they gave me an extra 45 min, did all that, went back to 123, gave how many hours I had left and they said go home. Their wa 3 guys ahead of me, one who was waiting almost 2 hours... Nothing like a short night

ok well a few weeks ago I was heading to 111 and noticed there was a new sign that read 13'6 so I had stopped and called dispacth, told them whats going on and they said ok can you turn around which I was able too and took the other way in(not sure why we arent routed that way in the first place.) talking to someone there they said I did the right thing as that bridge is accurate and theyve seen a lot of trucks hit it recently ever since the road was re-paved.
So today I come back in and there this nut-case talking to dispatch because he struck the bridge and didnt read the new directions. I heard them say what happened and he said "I started going underneath the bridge, and when the train went over, the bridge came down and got me stuck..." when I heard this I tried SOOOOOOO hard not to laugh
Anyways been getting a lot of 112 runs. Dont mind it, got there, they said its gonna be a while, so they let me bob-tail to the WAWA to get a sandwich. All the supervisors there are mad cool, never question anything, treat you like a fellow worker and not just another road guy coming in. But then again im kind of mellow and just mind my own business normally and do my thing and pay no attention to the knuckleheads -
I guess this makes me the newest member of the family. I start Holland Regional Monday.
Talk about a month long hiring procedure, but I still get the road/line haul/regional position. Or whatever they're calling it these days.
