So, I am excited to announce that I have rid myself of a situation I have been so anxiously ready to get away from. I quit Western Express! I feel like 10,000lbs was lifted off my shoulders, when I told my DM and the CEO of the company to suck a fat d*** and find a way to come get their truck before the private parking lot I parked their truck in, owner's had it towed. Any company who deliberately lies to it drivers and continues on with business as if it okay, deserves to fade into the darkness and involuntarily have to file for bankruptcy. I never wrecked a truck, violated any laws, rules or policies, and always ran hard making sure every load I ever picked up was on time, if not a day early. I ended up still, being owed almost $600 (Wasn't paid for a load I delivered which had an extra stop and was early... Also wasn't reimbursed for a lumpers fee receipt that I transflo'd in 9 hours early) and was threatened to come back out and pick up or I would get an abandonment of truck on my DAC. (Before I allowed hometime was up) SO BE IT! Yea I know whats next... All you law abiding, holy truckers will say I should handled it differently. You don't know me or my situation, so as far as how I handled this, you can talk until your lips are blue, or type to your fingers fall off. I am happy! I'm not even, upset about being out of $600. I wasn't hurting for money in the first place. Its the principles of the matter that pisses me off. Its like some of these companies don't see or don't care to realize that its us drivers who generate the revenue for them and miss everything that involves our families and our children. Being away from our wifes and significant others for weeks at a time. People like those at Western Express will never prosper. People who intentionally take advantage of others because they may be down on their luck and don't have many options, will never get ahead and God will always look down on them. They are a terrible company from top to bottom, and professionalism is a word that sounds like a phrase from a language that hasn't been created to them. I wish them nothing but the WORSE! To everyone responsible for giving me an opportunity at BIG M TRANSPORT/DIESEL EXPRESS, to move forward in my career and provide for my family, I thank you! I will work hard everyday to be an asset to the company, in hopes of a lucrative tenure and providing the best life possible for those whom I love and care about. To those who have also left Western and hate them as much as I do, please feel free to blast off on them!

You are not only one who has ever been taken advantage of by a trucking company. the abandonment and anything else Western puts on your DAC, and they will, may some day keep you from the "dream job" you may want.

Decent companies don't care about DAC anymore, they know what a bunch of lowlife scumbags the carriers that use it are. With FMCSA now, these numbers are much more important now, and hopefully will eventually put USIS out of business. I would not worry about an abandonment on your record, I did the same thing in 2003, and I just retired from trucking in January. I never had a problem getting a driving job even with this on my record.

As I have said in many posts, if a company needs to advertise, they should be avoided. You found out the hard way. I hope your next employer is a career rather than just a job.

    Congratulations on your moving on.
Unfortunately, all, and I do mean all, of the mega companies are no better.
$600 bucks a week to work 100 hours a week and to live like an animal... what a deal.
Hey newbies; don't listen to the "Defenders of the Megas". Go speak, in person, to real drivers and get the truth.
These jobs are worse than bottom of the barrel.
Over 98% of drivers are voluntarily leaving these companies for good, and for good reason.

Congratulations on holding YOURSELF to such a high standard when you quit! What does how others conduct their business have to do with the expectations you hold for yourself?

Here is something about USIS, MVR, PSP, etc. Altogether they give a pretty accurate picture of what a driver is. If you abandon equipment, your USIS tells it on you. If you do it once you'll do it again. Everyone to a man I have hired with a bunch of citations on their record gets some more. If your PSP says you don't keep your paperwork in order it won't be long before you collect a log violation. That is just the way some drivers do business. Drivers are just like their paper trails say they are.

You just showed everyone here that you won't do your due diligence when it comes time to. The sad part is that you didn't even see it.
