Hey Guys Ben with the company about a year now seeing if anyone is out of Trenton for regional. How bad would I starve if I go regional. What pay packet would you recommend? Who would I talk to about going to regional?
-
I'm regional. I average 2400-2600 miles a week. Sometimes more sometimes less. I do practical per deim. Tell you dispatcher you want to go regional and he will let regional dispatcher know. Regional is a different world. Have to manage your time very precisely. You will run your 14 out just about every day. One bad day or a breakdown can ruin your whole week. Has a lot to do with right place right time. The weekend home time and time with the family makes it all worth while for me. One thing tho. I see your from cincy. Don't be surprised if they put you in a coffin sleeper truck.glock23 Thanks this.

Tattoo is no longer with Millis. He departed about 2 years ago. He was my trainer.

They dont pay you to go to school.

What do u mean they don't pay u to go to school? How can someone like me pay for it??
Heard of govt grants and all that. And how long do u and your trainer go out? Their training is where at?
how long is it? What if u went to a local trucking school and got your cdl will they reimburse u??
Please help me!!! Thank u -
They do not pay you for the initial 3 weeks of classroom, yard, and road training. That part of the training costs 2500 dollars, you pay 100 prior to starting to hold your spot and bring 400 cash to class on the first day. They finance the remaining 2000 dollars at 20 bucks a week payroll deduction. That covers the first 3 weeks. When you are out with a trainer, that portion is another 2500 dollars, BUT, it is waived completely after you work for them for one year. Which brings the total cost to you of 2500 dollars. We have several training facilities (check the website)
You start getting paid after you go out with a trainer. The pay is (roughly 500 dollars a week) 73 dollars a day. You must drive at least 4 hours each day to get paid. Your trainer will see to it that happens. You must drive at least 15000 miles with your trainer to be able to test out and be assigned equipment. Your trainer will have a lot of input on whether you are ready or not. You will test for your class A CDL while out with your trainer. Generally, it takes 7 to 9 weeks to complete the mileage requirement depending on your performance, your skill level, and any home time you or your trainer take. It is my understanding that, no matter how good you are doing, the mileage requirement is non-negotiable.
As far as I know, they will not reimburse you for going too a local school nor will they hire you right out of school. You either go through Millis' school, or you hire on experienced.
Hope that answers your questions. Miillis is a great company to work for. Best of luck -
Yes it help me . My cash flow is non existent and limited
I know I have heard good things on this company. Yet I don't have a great financial situation. Any suggestion?? -
I was in the same position financially. I just kinda sucked it up a squirrelled away the cash I needed. It was tough as hell for about 30 days but it was well worth the sacrifice in the end. Like I said, Millis is a great company to work for. If you can work it out, it's worth it.

Thank u and they do seem a great place to be.
