Hello all you gear jammers.

I found this forum looking for some CB information. My wife and I were going on a 900+ mile vacation and I spent two days rummaging around the house for a long lost CB. My wife is from Russia and had no idea what a CB radio was. She was a Marine Biologist all her life. About as far away from the road as one can get. After finding it she wanted to know what I was going to do with it. I told her to wait awhile. After installing it in the four wheeler, (cigarette lighter type hook up) and buying a cheap Mobile Antenna, we set off. We hadn't crossed the state line when she asked if she could say something. She has a thick Russian accent so you can imagine that coming over the speaker. All in all, she found out what a CB radio is.

I drove for Curtis out of Denver, Co. hauling swinging beef and Metaframe out of Maywood, N.J. and Mountainside, Ca. hauling glass fish tanks as a company driver. I also drove for a guy that owned a nice KW and the closest he ever came to the truck was keeping the title in a bedroom drawer. Kinda like an owner operator without the headaches. I always had a camera and a sport jacket in the truck. But from this little trip in the four wheeler, things have changed a little as everything eventually does. Now it sounds more like a "You should have been here yesterday" type operation. At least for company drivers and lease operators.

As for my wife, now she wants me to hook one up in the house. Says she likes to listen to it. Yeah, right!
