Lots of variables---so really hard to tell--rarely adds more than 30minutes to the overall trip when i bounce into PA to load--and alot also depends at how comfortable YOU are with VERY HEAVY urban traffic----wish i could give you a better answer

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is how I pay my bills. THHHHAAAANK YOU!

What about Truck Route 9? I never been across it but slept under it many times.
Edit: Forget that idea after looking at the map. The skyway runs into the Holland Tunnel. -
I've done what I think the OP wanted i.e. leave New Jersey for Staten Island via 278 and the Goethals, you can easily do it from northbound 1/9 and go east on I 278, the way from the north isn't quite as easy, traffic circle to 439 eastbound and you get on at the left lanes of the bridge and could have a hard time getting into the right lane to cross it. I did that once, too, but I usually pay 1 toll from the New Jersey Turnpike at exit 13 and get on 278 east that way.

The Pulasky Skyway (1/9) is not for trucks, but truck 1/9 goes through Kearney. Just another of the joys of running out there. There are 2 truck stops in Kearney, 1 with a CAT Scale, and the other with a scale.

Yeah, look first, speak second, lol. foot out of mouth.

That's Jersey City over there ain't it?25(2)+2 Thanks this. -
It all kind of runs together, I get out to the fringe of the metro, deliver in Mountainside then had to go back there to drop at a hole along truck 1/9 in a place called North Bergen, then back to Hillside to load, but got to sit all night for the reload.
There's a place in Elizabeth where you have to kind of blind side in off the street, just plain nasty. A prime driver took 20 minutes to get it in the dock, and it wasn't all his fault, but still, not impressive.
I have been to Redhook just once, not a fun place, either. -
The whole day and million aggravations !!
From PA to anywhere in the 5 boros for me is no less than $1800 and I figure to do the traveling during the wee hours of the morning. -
I want my sandwich back and that's also reason #423,756,821 why I don't go to NYC.Infosaur Thanks this.
