    They did a great job.
Rpms on the beast are at 1450 when running 68 I focus on load and turbo to maximize fuel.

Thanks for the kind words. "What I do" is try to drive my truck in the most efficient way and write about it on here. I learn stuff everyday! The reason this thread is as good as it is is because of the helpful readers who are able to contribute to it. So keep on trucking! And if you DO decide to give JCT a try, I would appreciate you using me as a referral. Thanks again!

Yeah, I think so too! I was looking for a thunderstorm all day to spruce mine up today. No dice.

I had a nice, cheap breakfast at the little cafe in the Valero truck stop outside of Wichita Falls this morning. Discovering that my delivery time was a 24 hour window took the pressure to run hard off of me, but I still made 667 miles today to Jamestown, NM. That's the beauty of these long hauls with JCT. Today got me half way back to being on schedule for my 13,500 mile goal this month, and tomorrow should get me even. My plan is to get past Barstow somewhere to leave me with as short a distance as possible to Porterville. I'm thinking that I'll get a quick preplan Monday morning and I don't want to burn up all my miles just getting there.

Some of our best loads come out of this area whether it's cheese heading to Florida or carrots off to Pennsylvania. If everything works out just right, I might be able to slip by the house again this week. If I could make a wish, I think that I would take the produce on a long, northerly route. Yesterday in Dallas was hot as cojones!

Today was quite a climb ending up over a mile higher tonight than this morning. The truck ran smoothly and we managed to make 7.25 mpg measured with Fuelog from Hutchins, TX to Milan, NM - 788 miles and 108.6 gallons. Tomorrow is going to be a wild ride up and down, mostly down, and my goal is over 8.5 mpg. I can make that if the wind stays down.

Soule_Man has been on quite a wild ride himself. He's on his first trip with JCT and has managed to break his truck, lol. He even broke his brand new digital thermometer! Well, he SAYS he didn't break it, but it's reading only half of the numbers in the LED. I think that he was somewhat victimized by JCT's change in orientation. He was in the first class using the computer modules, and let's just say that the bugs haven't been worked out. As his mentor, I've been getting quite a workout too! I can't imagine what those other new drivers are going through. . .

Well I didn't break my truck and the thermometer came out the box and was jacked up. LOL

But here goes. I finally received my load from Tyson last night at midnight. I drove over to the pilot and was getting scaled out. The lady could not hear me so I shut the tractor off to talk to her. Well that was a bad idea as I was the a hole stuck on the scale with a broke down 2014 Evolution. LOL I sent a breakdown macro to JCT and within 3 minutes got a response. Within 45 minutes I had a road guru show up to fix big mama. Seems he has worked on a few of them and knew what it was when he got there. ( he could have just told me over the phone) The clutch switch is out of adjustment on this and if you press in the clutch it will not engage it to start the tractor. He fooled around with it then told me to push the pedal down, with the pedal all the way down he told me to push twice as hard. LOL waalaa big mama was up and at it again. 262.00 later which I hope JCT takes care of since I need to bring it in to get it adjusted and it is still under warranty. ( wishful thinking but who knows) But hey if this was my old company I would have had to push my truck off the scales and wait til the morning for them to call me back. LOL

Well I started off on my run to Phoenix at around 2am and drove til about 330-4. I hate driving at night and I was extremely tired so I pulled it over. Found the last park at a rest stop and it was right beside another JCT guy so he must have been saving it for me. Thankfully Bryant reminded me about doing a 8-2 split so I did that. woke up at 12 and drove until tonight. Chewed up 706 miles starting at 200ft above sea level to 4380ft running 66-67 with a 76000lb truck in 10hr 56 minutes. LOL That's around a 64mph average and my fuel mileage at the end of the day is sitting at 7.2mpg NOT TOO SHABBY.

I believe someone asked how much a truck weighing 75000lbs would do on fuel economy, so there ya go. Also remember my truck is still not broken in so it can only get better from here.
    :biggrin_25525:
All in all I think I really like it here even thou the hiccups with the orientation and stuff and this load. Also I hope Sharpp has unlimited minutes cause I blow him up LOL:biggrin_25523:

    JustDoc Thanks this.
